Fire alarm went off at 5am due to a faulty system. Had to leave the room with no bra, no shoes, and my toddlers asled for a refund due to only spending 4 hours in our room and not able to even sleep. They said booking.com had to.
Very friendly staff, and they had covered parking available. Location was about 10 minutes from downtown, so close enough to easily get to, but away from the hustle and bustle.
It was pricey, and the Riverview balcony room has a giant parking lot in front of it before the river.
Location
Window shade was tough to close and the smoke detector was not working so we were woke by the fire department at 5 am banging on the door while the rest of the guests were evacuated from the hotel
The staff was very friendly
The hotel was very dated. And they did not service our rooms while we were there.
Limpio, piscina, gym .
Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Location--not near the waterfront. We happened to find "shuttle driver" to bring us downtown--very reasonable and friendly. It would have been good if reception had told us about this option.
Close by location to historic Charleston and James Island - away from the crazy traffic.
The shuttle into town was only $7 for the entire day. A great service considering parking prices in town.
Although it is very clean, the hotel is tired. I was surprised that so much maintenance was needed at a Marriott chain hotel.
There was absolutely no where to shop or dine without getting in your car.
Stayed here for 3 nights while on a short visit to Charleston with 2 other adult family members. Our room was clean and had ample space for our belongings. We could relax on the couch and watch tv in the evening after a full day of walking around. Breakfast was good - they had the items you would expect: eggs, oatmeal, grits, bagels, yogurt, and fruit. The coffee was decent for hotel coffee. I was worried about mold and bugs having read some of the previous reviews but we did not have any issues with those concerns at all. The free parking was nice and it was a quick 10 minute drive to the visitors center in the historic area. The room was a little run down with gouges in the vinyl flooring, but that happens over time. I would be comfortable staying here again and it was definitely a better choice for the wallet than staying in the historic district!
Close to the city in a quiet area. Overall clean and comfortable, relatively well equipped rooms (fridge, microwave...).
Breakfast very basic. No cutlery or tableware in the kitchenette in the room.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.
The place needs some T.L.C. The door to our room had to be strong armed to close, the kitchen area cupboards didn't even close, looked almost like they would fall off if you used them.
The staff was nice and the breakfast was great
We were put into a handicap room and the beds were very loud when you tried to move
