voco Edinburgh - Royal Terrace by IHG

Located a short distance out of town Voco was a great place to stay on our short break to Edinburgh. Really friendly staff (Lewis on reception) made sure we were looked after when we arrived before our room was ready. The room was clean and we had an amazing view out to the Royal Yacht Brittania. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows but the windows didn't open and the air-conditioning was noisy.

The atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed, it was peaceful inside and the road outside was very quiet. If I was returning to Edinburgh then I would definitely consider staying here again.

Special thanks to Alena! Under the influence of your energy, everything really works like clockwork. Dishes are always plentiful, stocks are replenished regularly, the tables are perfectly clean, and cleaning is carried out on time. Everything is organized flawlessly!
There is something to compare it with: in other shifts, when you are on weekends, the picture, alas, is completely different — and that is why I would especially like to note your high professionalism and dedication.
I also want to mention Kitty's work at the reception! She was the one who met me first! I told you everything, I showed you! She was very friendly with me! It is such people with a good mood who make our day and our stay in this wonderful hotel, in this wonderful country, a good one! This fragile girl helped me carry my luggage, despite the fact that there was a large male employee nearby!
The hotel itself is very cozy! I love going out on the terrace! It seems that you live outside the city! Silence, comfort, peace!

We had an awesome experience staying at Voco Royal Terrace. The location was amazing right on the backside of Calton Hill, walkable to everything within 15 minutes. And the hotel was clean, updated, and the staff were so friendly and professional. Plus, when we arrived we were greeted with a basket of goodies including crisps, chocolates, and cocktails alongside a handwritten welcome note. What a nice touch! We definitely recommend this hotel!

I stay here a lot for business. I love the high ceilings and sense of space. I always get the most comfortable sleep with exceptionally comfortable pillows and beds. I received a warm welcome - can’t remember the front desk lady’s name, and received friendly service in the way out from Lewis and Noor. It’s my go to hotel in Edinburgh. I like the small touches like bathrobes, little sweet treats and for me the perfect location - quiet so you can get a good night’s rest b

it is a beautiful hotel with great decor and architecture! as a diamond elite rewards member, this is one of my favorite stays and all the workers have been so kind! We had Olena and Eduard as our morning breakfast staff, and they were incredibly helpful! Olena went out of her way to explain how the set up works and clean off a table by the window we were hoping to sit near. Eduard pull out our seats for us and happily grabbed us some juice that we didn't see sitting out. The breakfast was delicious, too! Our room was very nice and clean and we loved the amenities that came with it! Will certainly stay here again when traveling to Edinburgh!

Olena and Eduard were SO kind and attentive to us. Anything we could possibly want, they were eager to help. Their sweet service really made our breakfast wonderful!

Great city centre location and attentive staff BUT no power in the shower, basement rooms smell damp and basics missing or poor quality.
I’m trying to be balanced as there are positives to the hotel such as the in room welcome basket of Scottish goodies but this doesn’t make up for the poor basics such as cheap toilet roll no shower cap and lack of lighting in areas of the room.
Breakfast was delicious. Fresh and made to order. The lobby and bar area are comfortable and have a relaxing atmosphere.

Staying at Voco was a plus for our trip to Edinburgh. Staff was kind and always ready to help. We had a very pleasant stay and breakfast was a highlight with Eduart waiting on us, always cheerful and helpful. Olena, too, deserves special mention for her attentive eye and diligence, making sure baskets, trays and bowls were refilled promptly. It helped make our Edinburgh trip even more special and memorable.

Service was mixed but breakfast waiter Eduardt was extremely kind, helpful and efficient.
