Utter lack of housekeeping. :":green housekeeping"means they can't even make the bed?? No, it means that they don't pay people. Not good. Won't be back unless I really have to.
Breakfast was very heavy on fried sruff, but in Scotland you have to expect that
Room on ground floor.
Clean and comfortable.
Lovely welcome from staff.
Lovely towels .
Breakfast was poor today usually enjoy the hot food .bacon not cooked well sausages were just ok black pudding all in a broken up state
.
Serving spoons all messy and area looked untidy and spillage of beans on cloth.
Granted was busy with coach party etc but not usual standard.
This was our observation shame.
However we would still return 😊
Well designed bathroom, clean, friendly staff, very accessible layout, standard breakfast gives you enough options
One night stay prior to Arran trip and we found the Staff very helpful even thou the Hotel was busy with tour groups we still found a reservation the service at the Reception Bar and Resturaunt were first class, room was clean and suitable breakfast was a buffet style.
Overnight stay with breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. Ample parking, lovely friendly welcome and clean comfortable room. The hotel was fully booked with several coach parties but didn’t feel busy or noisy. We visited the nearby Odeon and retail park and spotted the Bejing Banquet buffet so had our meal there. The buffet breakfast was very good, we went a bit later to avoid the coach party times and found breakfast to be a relaxed , enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if in the area.
The rooms looked like on the photos. They were clean, and great size.
Plenty of parking spaces in front of the hotel.
There were continental and cooked breakfast options to choose from.
The breakfast was lovely all freshly cooked
In the room there was no blinds or net curtains..so no privacy from houses over the back,,very open
Nice evening meal well presented qnd vety tasty.
Room looked 'tired' could do with an update, only one bed side cabinet, headboard larger than the bed . Cooked food at breakfast was only luke warm.
First stay at Riverside...normally stay at The Piersland or The Carlton but we found a good deal and decided to stay. Friendly checkin ..room on top floor..lounge/bar area nice and modern. Dinner was fine (2 excellent steak pies) Husband's tempura was sent back because cold and hard ..replacement better.👍 But waited ages for meal and ended up not bothering with a sweet! Room was fine (nice bottle of wine included) and clean as was bathroom except for few bad diy repairs and basic shower. Bed was very firm and we were wakened at 5.30 by doors banging shut when folks left the room.😤 Breakfast was tasty. Buffet constantly replenished. Late checkout. We enjoyed our stay though and might stay again if deal..and ask for softer mattress. Thanks to staff.
The hotel was lovely rooms were a bit dated compared to the hotel itself
The fact that we had to wait over an hour on food but spoke with manager and got it sorted
Restaurant was very nice and the communal areas of the hotel were lovely.
A nice breakfast with a good selection
Hotel was very hot especially through the night so very uncomfortable.
Blood on bathroom floor
Room was dusty
Not very well kept
Easy access into the town and routes to local areas
I dislike buffet breakfasts, some food was barely warm
Clean, nice welcoming staff, dog friendly and convenient for the ferry
All good
