Excellent location. You can't get better in St Andrews with a view of the 18th fairway and green right outside the window of our nice and spacious room. The bathroom, though luxurious, was not to my taste being a bit Victorian in style (dark green wall tiles) but it probably appeals to the American market which I guess wants something very traditional. The staff were very friendly and attentive. One of the few hotels in the area that welcomes dogs. Overall a very pleasant and hassle free stay, albeit on the pricier side.
No milk was supplied with the English breakfast tea, which itself was a bit weak and bordering on colourless. Milk was quickly provided on request but should be automatic in a 5 star hotel of this price and quality. Otherwise, an excellent served breakfast and no buffet - which is as it should be in such an establishment.
Location, staff are so welcoming,
it’s just perfect!
There is nothing not to like!
The best location for golf fan. Great breakfast and service. People very very nice and helpful.
Amazing views of St Andrews from the room.
Roof top restaurant was right above our room (807) and lots of noise with tables and chairs getting moved around up until late in the night.
Our kids treated us to a stay here and it was fantastic. Right on the course we had the perfect view. Comfy room, good breakfast and charming staff.
Location, attention to detail from staff, every effort made to make you feel welcome
Nothing to dislike
The ambience the style.
We visited 18 at the Rusacks for cocktails. Despite plenty of staff being available the service was awful and no where near matching the price of drinks.
As a pre 45th wedding anniversary treat we thought we’d have lunch in St Andrews. We went to the Old Course hotel but as the man at reception was so abrupt and unwelcoming we left and headed up the hill to the Rusacks Hotel. The staff here were the complete opposite and were so friendly and welcoming. We had lunch in the Bridge restaurant and we’ll definitely go back. When we arrived, Becky went out of her way to seat us at the windows overlooking the old course and sea. She didn’t even know it was a special occasion and treated us so well. Our waitress was called Laurie and she anticipated anything we might need and was so helpful and attentive. The food was lovely as was the wine and the whole experience was a joy. Thank you. We are now looking at coming to stay at the hotel in the summer with our family.
We stayed here for two nights recently and we will definitely be back!
The welcome at check in was warm and informative when paired with the beautiful foyer area, made a great start to our visit.
The room was amazing; it was spacious, well equipped and had an air of elegance. The decor was modern but also traditional, a balance that is hard to achieve. The bed was so comfortable and even with Storm Dave, we slept wonderfully.
We had a stunning sea and golf course view that could rival views abroad.
The bathroom was also contemporary whilst maintaining traditional features. It was impeccably clean and well maintained.
We had the pleasure of eating in both the roof top restaurant and The Bridge. We preferred the rooftop restaurant and would definitely recommend it due to the attentiveness of the staff and the delicious, high quality food! The wine and cocktails were fantastic too. The bar area has a relaxed and calming feel, where again the staff are friendly and professional.
Breakfast at The Bridge was lovely. The pancakes with clotted cream were dreamy and I only wish I had had this both days.
The One Under Bar also had a chilled and cosy vibe. The food looked good and we would definitely try it if we stayed again.
What was nice about this hotel is that although it has a 5* rating, people seemed free to dress as they felt comfortable; some more casual and relaxed whilst others matched the splendor and grandeur of the setting.
Thank you for a superb stay. It was definitely worth the 5 hour drive!
From entering The Rusacks hotel my friend and I were greeted by the concierge who introduced himself to us as Gordon. The warm welcome we received from him and the girls on the reception was exceptional. Gordon escorted us through the hotel offering us interesting facts about its heritage. His enthusiasm and attention to detail while guiding us through the room was both impressive and informative. Laura and Grace couldn’t have done enough for us. The staff made our one night stay a memorable experience. I would definitely come back to The Rusacks hotel and look forward to the warm welcome that I know I will receive from Gordon and all the other staff.
Excellent experience from the moment we entered the hotel foyer we had such a warm reception by all the Team and especially Gordon who chatted interesting facts about the hotels history and how to get the best from our stay. Thank you so much.
What a wonderful experience at The Rusacks Hotel. We stayed for a week with a group of friends. Coming back to the Rusacks is like visiting an old friend - you know you are always welcome and made feel comfortable. The staff are unbelievably helpful. Concierge Jamie helps with every request or question. Jack who was in charge of dining room on several days even went to the trouble of having my morning beverage waiting for me! We had wonderful meals at the 18, fun times in the One Under Pub and great breakfasts at the Bridge. The General Manager, Seamus Coen made several trips to our party checking on our needs. Our room had a magical view of the old course iconic 18th hole plus the wonderful beach made famous by Chariots of Fire. The location of the hotel makes the St Andrews experience exceptional in a country known for their hospitality.
Fantastic location and hotel is superb - had a room overlooking the first tee and it is the view which sells this hotel
The foyer and general areas were cold . Also the water in room - shower and bath was lukewarm not hot
