Great location, walking distance to everything in the CBD of Hobart. Would recommend this hotel.
Pros:

Fantastic location, on the doorstop of waterfront and Salamanca markets. Lots of very informative brochures. Ability to make tea and toast, plus microwave. Reception closes after a certain time but security access after hours was key card.

Cons:

Nothing to dislike.

We were greeted by friendly staff who are very willing to ensure a comfortable stay. Balmoral is in an excellent location, a 5 minute walk into the city and close to hospitals. Freshly renovated and clean. Loved the art nouveau decorated breakfast room and breakfast was amazing. Having a lift to cater for all abilities. Our room was comfy, warm and quiet. Bathroom facilities good. Off street parking. Look forward to our next stay and to book a room with a view over the city. 😊

Cons:

There was nothing to dislike with our stay at Balmoral. The only suggestion I would have is to have stronger lighting over the bathroom vanity mirror for those with poor eyesight and needing to apply makeup, etc. 😀

A good location for exploring Launceston.
Pros:

A nice renovation of an older hotel. The free continental breakfast was fine. Parking at the property was great although it was on a hill so luggage with wheels needs some care.

Cons:

Lighting over the sink wasn't great for makeup etc.

Close to everything Launceston is very walkable and Balmoral on York is a perfect location to be able to see everything
