Easy parking , good value for $
When I arrived there was a swarm of flies in my room 😬 , not as close to the township as I would’ve preferred
Worst
Worst place
Staff are good people and they help you in everything you need.
Easy parking spots.
Well located
Advertised as “Deluxe” misleads customers to rent an overpriced ($160/night) standard old suite. There is nothing "deluxe" about it. I am posting photos with details they don’t advertise.
- Shower with no door: The toilet gets wet
- The toilet door does not seal property, so smell might get into the bedroom.
- No heat pump that you can control when you want. There is a wall heater they turn on in a fixed scheduled time which might not fit the guest's routine.
- The small fridge stays right beside the bed, making noises that wakes us up over the night.
The place I live, an old 1965 house in Auckland does not have any of those issues, and it is just a simple standard house. This rooms should never be called "Deluxe".
Availability and ease of booking on the day.
The bath was a bonus as we had just walked the Hollyford track!
Nothing
Everything
The lady at reception kindly microwaved some food for me.
Smells damp and mouldy, not a hotel if there’s no restaurant! And no cutlery etc. in the room. Also no step in shower.
L'extérieur de l'hôtel aurait besoin d'un bon coup de peinture mais la chambre était correcte, Très propre, très petite salle de bain. Nous avions ce que nous voulions.
Murs mal insonorisés.
Handy location, very reasonably priced, great view from the window and lovely and warm.
There was no microwave or any plates or cutlery which made self catering a bit of a challenge.
It was convenient and quite adequate for our 2 night stay either side of our day trip to Milford Sound. The walk-in shower was much appreciated given my mobility challenges.
It was small with little space to put an open suitcase, and there was no wardrobe to hang clothes. We were unable to get the television to work ... instructions in the room for doing that would have been helpful.
Convenience
Lack of heating and fridge froze everything
Room was spacious, clean & cheap
Was dated & shower pressure was low
Budget friendly. Rooms were surprisingly cleaner than the rest of the place. A decent way to break up the Queenstown to Milford sound journey.
No bed bugs though so that’s a win.
Very run down, beds aren’t great, sheer curtains dirty, strong musty odour in all Common areas. Can hear other guests moving thoughout the property. All in all not a great hotel.
Room 122 was very neat and clean. White linen and towels with toiletries provided.
Heater and electric blankets was already on to welcome us to a warm and cosy room.
Tea and coffee station with a small fridge and a socket near the one side of the bed. Reading lights each side of the bed.
Bathroom with a big shower with a glass parition that ensures noleaks while showering.
Staff was very friendly, kind and helpful. They could not provide dinner which I requested as it was my husband's birthday, but they did surprise us with a lovely complimentary breakfast buffet the next morning.
Safe parking near our room was available.
Thank you so much Fiordland Hotel team for a lovely, affordable stay.
Suggestion: a bedside shelf and a socket on the right side of the bed would be great.
