Sonesta Simply Suites Huntsville Research Park

The whole hotel smelled of weed, expectedly the entrance. It took ten minutes to check in because no one was at the desk. Another man and I stood for ten minutes with the help phone alarm going off before the staff memeber came out of the front office saying "Damn I'm here."

Some smoke smell came to the hallway sometimes

We had lots if issues this time. I booked two 1-bedroom suites at least 6 days in advance. At the time there were many of those rooms available. I let them know we would not be in until 8:00 p.m. At 5:00 pm the day of check in they call me and tell me they do not have 1-bedroom suites available, so they are putting us in a regular room for 1 night. I was not happy and they came up with a 1-bedroom suite, but it was right next to the stairs on the second floor, that door gets a lot of use. When I booked my stay, I requested not to be put next to the stairs. We were there first around 8:00 pm and told they could not find a cart to help us move all our items into the room, that other guest must have them in their rooms. We had a lot of items including food. The couple traveling with us was put into a regular room and told a 1-bedroom suite would be available the next day and they would be move to that room. We confirmed with 3 people that they would be moved, over the phone, when we checked in, and they checked in later that night and confirmed. The next morning, they were told by the morning person that he did not know anything about this. They had to push him to contact someone that could straighten this out, about an hour later they were given a 1-bedroom suite, but no one could help them move and they had to be out of the regular room that morning. We had golf tee times and the couple traveling with us were late and close to not being able to play. In our room I sat in the recliner and opened it and lots of old cereal fell out. The pull-out couch was the same, opened it and filled with crumbs and dirt. I emailed booking.com several time at several emails and not one reached out to us. It appears that when we book with booking.com we get the lesser rooms, locations and bumped out of our rooms. Sonesta or booking.com sent an email asking if we wanted to pay $10.00 more per day to upgrade – if we don’t purchase that upgrade does that mean we get the

$199 per night. You shoukd not have receptionists clean

Nothing. Everything was perfect. Prices could be a little lower but price is worth it.

The hotel smells like weed and smoke. The a/c in the first room I stated had mold and the bathroom wasn't flushing well. The staff did not respond immediately but they moved me to another room, but there were children and maybe adults upstairs who were jumping up and down, it was hard to get work done. Overall, I did not have a pleasant experience. I called the corporate office to complain as well.
