Convenient with price
My first room had ant infestation I had to move rooms
Never checked in false wifi
No WiFi but said so
There were no dishes or anything.
The place was absolutely grubby!!! Smelled of smoke and Indian food. If it had not been so late when we checked in (midnight as we were traveling) would have left and fought for our $$ back. We left at 7 am, definitely not up to Urbandale standards.
Nothing.
Rooms were disgusting. I had even asked for a room change but all the other rooms she showed me were just as bad. Fluids all over the bed skirting. Floors absolutely disgusting. Bathroom linoleum peeling up. Fridge loud and from the 90s. Whole place out of date and disgusting.
Beef up the strength of your housekeeper front of hotels are not supposed to be dirty with trash overflowing
Everything I still here feels at home.
Unless staying for more
When I booked this property thru Expedia, I was not made aware this was a VERY LIMITED property as far as services, etc. As there is none. If you want to use their kitchen, you can buy 2 pots & pans for about 30.00. Dinnereware I think was aother 20.00. Then when I asked if I could have new towels, that was a charge of 1.50 each per use. I bottle of 12 oz. Coca Cola was 3.90! Price was 84.00 per day and I have to admit, I was more than shocked and disappointed in the photos make everything like new - No really like new - Counter in Bathroom had disgusting looking stains, that apparently wouldn't clean up, chips not taken care of on dresser, just little things through out the room to make it feel like it wasn't really cared for in the past. If you stay for a long time, they only service the room once every two weeks and the extra towel still is charged to you. No hand towels in the bathroom or kitchen. No detergent to use for washing up your meal. Just two plastic glasses for use in bathroom and in main room. Oh, I could go on and one. In thinking about it people who do stay a week or two or more, probably plan ahead with their own extra items, but I sure got tired of needing a common items in other places, just were not here at all. 1 small bar of soap (motel size) for alll bathing and hand washing - whew you get the picture:). Got no where with Expedia or hotel staff in possible remidies for these items - not to speak of orig. quote from expedia - didn't turn
There are absolutely zero frills in this place, no coffee, limited towels, 2 plastic cups, no dishes for the kitchen, no shampoo/conditioner and only one small bar of soap for the bathroom. Bed wasn't super comfortable but it was clean. However both the carpet and the smell in the hallways was absolutely disgusting. Our room didn't smell much better and the 2 rolling chairs in the room were filthy. Front desk staff was friendly, but they shut down at a certain point in the evening through the next morning with a locked pulldown gate, so when we wanted to check out in the morning around 8/9am we couldn't even turn in our key cards. I don't recommend this place.
The door only opened if you turned the handle up and not down,
On a recent trip to Des Moines, we were fortunate enough to discover ESA Select Suites in Urbandale, IA. General Manager Stephen and Front Desk Attendants Marci and Drea gave us a welcome as warm as the weather outside (which, given the heat index that weekend, is really saying something!), and they were as friendly, kind, and helpful as they could possibly be. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and we particularly appreciated the full-size refrigerator/freezer. We also liked the microwave above the cooktop, which was perfect for reheating leftover pizza and making popcorn. We have stayed in places that cost twice as much and which weren't half as nice! We would without hesitation recommend this hotel, and the next time we are in Des Moines, we certainly will return. Full marks!
So I've stayed multiple times when I've had business in Des. Moines, my recent dependent experience with management staff.
Overwhelming disgusting, rude.
And very inappropriate. I'm being a single woman in a large city. It always made me feel comfortable when I stayed at an extended stay.
This was my worst experience, and I'll never stay here again. And I will let everyone know. The general manager is inappropriate and things. Taste all good, it's okay to be inappropriate. And what inappropriately touch, just a woman, if my husband was there, he would have probably smacked them. I didn't call the police because I just wanted to get out of there. I ended up leaving. It's in the middle of the night at night. They went and stayed at a Holiday Inn express just up the street. That's what I recommend. Avoid this place. Avoid this place what that all means mm. I heard the general manager. I'm talking to a guest in the lobby loudly. Talking to the guest about a previous day. And yeah, being rude and disrespectful. That's not how somebody in hospitality should act. This is in a hotel. This is like it a place for hobos and deadbeach. Men smoking marijuana outside the door management, not saying anything they took away the breakfast. They don't have appliances that you can use not even a coffee pot. It's a shame. This place was once the pride passed. Of long-term and short-term places. Yeah, to stay. I'd rather pay hundreds more to be in a safe environment than here. I'm going to stay anonymous because I am petrified.
What it could happen to my husband i've seen this post beware
The location of the property is centrally located in town, easy to get places.
It wasn't clear to me when I booked the room, there was no room coffee pot or coffee in the lobby.
The shower water spilled over on to the floor.
The place is old and not updated.
The staff was very personable.
All on all great stay..
Issues with tv service, which staff did their best to fix, but never did work correctly...
Still on 90s type cable coax..so looses signal when too many guests on at same time
