I believe I can consider myself a regular guest at Dormy Inn Kawasaki, as I have stayed for at least 15 nights in 2025 alone.
I truly enjoy the hotel — especially the onsen, the open workspace, and of course the excellent service. Whenever I need accommodation in the Tokyo area, Dormy Inn Kawasaki is always my first choice.
I also bring my friends from boston to this hotel for new year at the end of 2025.
However, during my most recent stay, I had a disappointing experience with one of your staff members, 酒井.
On the morning of February 18, I needed to send a package to a friend in Tokyo. I asked her if the hotel could assist with shipping, and she informed me that I would need to go to a 7-Eleven store instead. While many hotels offer this service, I completely understand that policies may differ, and I respected that decision.
I then went to 7-Eleven and obtained a Yamato shipping form. Since I do not speak Japanese and was concerned about making mistakes — especially when writing my friend’s address in Japanese — I returned to the front desk and politely asked if she could help me fill it out. Although the form included some English translations, I still felt unsure.
She did assist me, but she seemed impatient and reluctant. After reviewing the form, I noticed that the sender’s address section was incomplete. I asked if she could kindly help fill in the hotel’s address. At that point, her response felt quite unfriendly, and she declined in a manner that came across as rude.
I fully understand that there may be specific policies or limitations, and if there was something she was unable to do, I would have appreciated a clear explanation. What disappointed me was not the refusal itself, but the attitude. At that time, the lobby was quiet and no other guests were waiting, which made the interaction feel even more uncomfortable.
I value Dormy Inn Kawasaki very much and will likely continue to stay there when I visit the Tokyo area. However, I felt it was important to share this experience, as it was genuinely disappointing compared to the high standard of service I have come to expect from your hotel.
