The twin rooms the single beds the mattress’ were tiny compared to the bottom of beds which were on really fast wheels lol we were nearly racing down the corridor other than that fab

Was in an accessible room. So wet room with extra shower over bath. Connecting door you next room. Also couldn't sleep as an outside light was positioned right above the window illuminating the room all night. Even with curtains closed.
I've been comping to this hotel for many years and was so disappointed to see how it's gone downhill. All the previous Eastern European super efficient staff are gone. The paintwork is chipped , carpets stained. Reception staff not efficient enough. As t first I had a room which should never have been let out. It had no ceiling lights and one table lamp broken. It was so dark I could barely read. The bath enamel was chipped in several places, the window was tiny and very high, draught coming in but I couldn't reach up to close it. I complained next morning at reception and was moved immediately and without question because they knew how bad that room was. Shockingly hard mattress which creaked, it might have been straw!
The entire place needs a deep clean and refurb. The staff need training, i.e. where to find milk sachets when requested for my room! They sent me to the bar, didn't know what they were doing. I wished I was at a light, bright, clean efficient functional premier inn.

The hotel failed to provide an electronic copy of the receipt at checkout even though it was specifically requested at checkin and repeated during checkout.

The noise, believe it or not from the other side of the Terrace. A disco blarring until the early hours of the morning on Sunday and Monday nights

Central location
Originally we were in room 111, but at 8pm music started as part of a function which was very loud in a room and the whole corridor. We got moved to room 229 but they must know the noise from the function would be loud in the rooms above the function.

Felt a bit tired
the location was in the centre of Aberdeen, but had the benefit of being quiet and not busy. I was greeted warmly by the reception staff who were helpful and polite. The room was wonderful, it was spacious, lofty yet had a cosy old fashioned charm and was nicely furnished. When I drew back the net curtains I was delighted to see a wonderful view of the city and spent a lovely time sitting to look out before retiring. The bathroom was very nice and I was lucky to have been given a bath (which I had asked for). The tea/coffee facilities were very good. The breakfast was superb quality, everything I wanted and easy to use. The car park was nearby and reasonable. On my tour of Scotland I stayed in 7 different hotels and this hotel was joint first in my opinion. It was also the cheapest price hotel, which is amazing. I shall certain book in again when in Aberdeen and I am looking at staying at other Mercure Hotels. Highly recommended.
The hotel is very central with everything around.
I came for work. Theres plenty shopping, attractions, restaurants bars theatres but you have a beautiful menu in hotel restaurant and food is excellent amazing quality and very good value for money.
Stayed on allot of occasions the staff are all very friendly and helpful

I gave a specific request that my room should have a view of the union terrace but instead I was given room 316 facing concrete walls and no explanation provided. Also I paid for deluxe double which was supposed to come with bath and coffee maker but there was none. The features advertised were not in the room. The chairs in reception are torn and should be changed.
