Return to the Caledonian after 60-odd years!
Pros:

The initial booking, over the phone, was less than perfect. My wife and I booked two nights. We subsequently attempted to add a third. Unfortunately this turned out to be one extra night for me alone, a phenomenon that continued into the second day, when the room key failed to work, and was renewed. Apart from that, all staff were attention and efficient.

Grand stay at the Callie.
Pros:

From arriving to leaving the hotel, we were impressed by all the staff we met who could not do enough for us.They were very friendly,helpful, and took time to make us feel very welcome.The breakfast was excellent, served in a relaxed atmosphere in a fantastic Victorian hotel full of history and character.The staff were proud of their hotel and shared many fascinating stories and details. A special mention to the chef and kitchen and to Will and Natalie.We have booked for next year!

Would not recommend for a high quality stay.

Cons:

Decor was poorly kept, needs to be better invested in. Walls peeling, woodwork chipped and warped. On arrival I was asked to pay despite having paid online already. We stayed one night, came back to the hotel and got to our rooms to discover both key cards had been deactivated and we had to go to reception to have this rectified

Rimelig pris, men nok ikke 4 stjerner værdigt.
Pros:

Hotellet ligger rigtig godt i forhold til centrum. Der er en god atmosfære på hotellet, som er af ældre dato.

Cons:

Hotellet virker slidt og det trænger til generel vedligeholdelse. Der er lidt nusset og beskidt i krogene. Hotellet har en fin tilknyttet parkering, men det er bare ikke stor nok, hvis man ankommer sent. Så kan man holde gratis i gaderne, hvor der er rimelig plads. Men gratis parkering er kun til kl. 8 om morgenen, og der kan kun holdes 1 time i gaderne.

Disappointing
Pros:

Good location and nice granite facade

Cons:

Me first room was like a sauna. Turned the radiators off and went out for dinner. Came back and the room smelled of damp, had to change rooms late at night which was a hassle.

Nice, clean reasonable priced hotel but the beds need some attention
Pros:

Cons:

The bed was very uncomfortable. It took me so long to work out why. The bed or the matress topper was thinner at the head end and thicker at the foot end meaning I was sleeping downhill (if that makes sense) I eventually turned around and slept upside down

La chambre présentait plusieurs insuffisances. Elle n’était pas suffisamment propre, avec la présence de mouches et d’araignées. La porte des toilettes était fortement usée et générait un bruit important lors de la fermeture. Le lit double était de petite taille, usé et instable d’un côté. Par ailleurs, la télécommande ne fonctionnait pas, malgré ma demande de remplacement effectuée à l’accueil.
En l’état, la chambre 306 ne répond pas aux standards attendus pour un établissement classé quatre étoiles et ne garantit aucun confort

Great food comfy bed, would stay here again.

Location is great right in the city centre.

Cons:

The room was a bit on the small side, fine for one or two nights though, and comfortable.
My friend and I had a lovely dinner in the hotel bar, but we were disappointed we couldn’t get a latte as there is no coffee machine. We were going to have breakfast there but because of no lattes we went elsewhere.

Spot on hotel - right in the city centre.
Pros:

Superb stay! Fantastic locarion, beautiful room with great facilities - really nice to have a fridge when in the middle of a heatwave!

Check in took seconds. Staff all very poliite and welcoming. Great price.

I will certainly be back.
