Only good thing is the location and a one of the catering/hospitality managers.
Aesthetics truly dreadful: 1990's tasteless gold and marble. Downstairs layout is appalling with the lobby, restaurant, and bar all in the same souless space. The new owners (9.25) need to spend serious cash on rebuilding the entire communal/ground floor area. I don't expect a Park Hyatt to be akin to a hotel-come-convention centre.
I’ve stayed at Park Hyatt Melbourne a few times before and have always considered it one of the better hotels in Melbourne, which makes this last stay even more disappointing.
While staying there recently, I was having drinks with a group of friends at the hotel. Without my permission, everything ended up being charged to my room. When I questioned it, I was told the bill couldn’t be split and that I would need to sort it out with my friends myself, even though I never authorised the charges to be put on my room in the first place.
For a hotel of this standard, I expected much better service and professionalism. Situations like this should be handled properly by staff, not pushed onto the guest to deal with. Very frustrating experience and not what I expected from a place I’ve stayed at multiple times.
早餐很丰富
Front Desk Staff, Mariah was very welcoming, Toby at Concierge was very attentive to parking our car.
Our room was large and beautifully laid out and beds were so comfortable.
Breakfast was a real treat, staff very attentive and huge range of breakfast options, Myrna was very engaging and made us not want to leave.
Nothing
The proximity to Spring Street was a feature. Went to a show at the Princess Theatre.
