such a splendid place, quite shocking for the service to be so poor
Pros:

such a beautiful place. Dinner was amazing, delicious and such friendly staff and chef, very engaging, interesting, welcoming.

Cons:

service was mostly very poor. Some of the reception staff was unhelpful and even unfriendly, the breakfast staff was mostly bad with incredibly long waits and food arriving at very different times, truly appalling.

Lack of facilities for the money
Pros:

Clean, pretty venue, beautiful grounds, 4 poster bed, large bathroom

Cons:

No spa/swimming pool, AC not working, staff variable, £30 for breakfast per person was expensive and breakfast was average, no places to lie in the sun

Great location horrible deal
Pros:

Great food, great estate

Cons:

Service was overall really poor. Our room was at the 3rd floor no lift and nobody helped us carry our suitcases. The room was advertised as having a “spa bath” and it actually had a regular bathtube. We were charged a bottle of champagne we didn’t order/drink and they took it off the bill only after complaining.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

Beautiful house and grounds. Common rooms were beautiful: restaurants, bars etc. lovely to be able to sit outside comfortably. What a benefit to have the bedroom air conditioned.

Cons:

Perhaps try attaching the shampoo, bath gel bottles to the wall in the shower. Once your hands are wet it was almost impossible to swivel the cap to get the contents out.

Beautiful hotel in a very beautiful location.
Pros:

This is a beautiful hotel in a very beautiful location, and we were blessed with incredible weather. I am giving it a 9/10, because there is some room for improvement. But, overall, our stay was lovely, and we will happily return. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I felt there was some improvement needed in terms of service training in the bar and restaurant, but I am a former hotel owner, which makes me somewhat picky. Overall, the staff were excellent, and the food in the Wellhouse was exceptional. The room was nice, and a decent size, although I felt it could have been better decorated, and the bathroom had black mould around the shower, which is always a pet-hate of mine. It is something that is so easy to keep on top of, so there is no excuse for it.

Cons:

The breakfast was poor. This is my main reason for not giving a 10/10 score. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast on the first morning, which looked like slop on a plate. It was tasteless and very poorly made. Portion sizes were also disappointingly small for the price. Breakfast needs a big improvement to bring the hotel in line with other hotels at this level. As I mentioned previously, the silicon around the shower area in the bathroom was full of black mould. Cilit Bang black mould remover is a housekeeper's best friend. The hotel should look to invest in some and make sure it is used weekly in each room. This will remove any existing black mould, and will help to prevent any more from developing.

sehr zu empfehlen für einen Rückzugsort in der Natur
Pros:

tolle Lage, sehr ruhig gelegen.
