Review Highlights

Pros:
Excellent location
Updated, comfortable rooms
Rooms described as clean
Grab-and-go breakfast option available at times
Friendly staff reported in some reviews
Cons:
Ongoing construction/renovations causing noise, closures, and safety concerns
Breakfast/F&B frequently unavailable or inconsistent
Maintenance issues (exposed wires, broken laundry door handle, TV problems, no ice)

Housekeeping inconsistently provided; strong hallway odors reported
Pet barking and lack of clarity about pet policy

Categories

Cleanliness
6
Rooms often reported as clean and updated, but multiple guests noted strong hallway odors and at least one report of no housekeeping during multi-night stays, lowering the overall cleanliness impression.
Service
6.2
Mixed service: some reviews call staff amable/friendly, but there are multiple serious issues (front desk confusion about room assignments, lack of quarters, staff entering rooms without knocking, limited help with laundry machines) that pull down the score.
Location
9.8
Consistently praised as ideal and convenient (close to freeway, tucked away from noise, good for visiting friends), making location one of the strongest aspects of the property.
Room Quality
9.8
Guests repeatedly mentioned updated, roomy, comfortable accommodations and liked in-room toiletries and layouts (king suite). Some maintenance/unfinished details related to renovation were noted but rooms themselves were generally well-regarded.
Amenities
6
Amenity availability was inconsistent due to renovations: pool and gym were closed at times, laundry machines had issues (no quarters, offline app), and ice/coffee availability problems were reported.
Value for Money
6.6
Value is reduced for guests who paid for services (e.g., breakfast) they did not reliably receive and for stays impacted by renovations; however strong location and room updates temper the negative impact.
Food and Beverage
6
Frequent complaints that normal breakfast was unavailable; grab-and-go worked for some but was inconsistent, plus reports of no ice/coffee on the last day and limited F&B service during renovation.
Overall Experience
7.2
Mixed overall: excellent location and generally good updated rooms, but pervasive construction, intermittent service failures, amenity closures, and some safety/maintenance concerns resulted in an overall experience in line with the target rating.

yellow tape blocking shared space
Pros:

The dining room was under construction, but the tape blocked all common areas and door to outdoor space. no alternate walkway made available

Great upgrades, needs better maintenance
Pros:

The inside of room was nice and clean. Libby was closed for remodeling so the breakfast option of grab and go was convenient

Cons:

The laundry room did not have a handle to open the door. Wires were just sticking out. Front desk did not have any quarters and the app used on the machines could not be used because there were offline.

The hallways smelled so horrible. Like shrimp or similar

Didn’t have “had me a hammer” on my bingo card
Pros:

I love this physical location. Right by the freeway but tucked away from noise. But this location has been renovating for 3+ years. And I am literally in a room now with the door lock being changed. The phrase “hand me a hammer” is not one you want to hear when you have paid to stay at a hotel.
They have posted a finish notice of July. I’m sure they’re not mentioning any of this to current booking guests because it’s possible our stays are also funding the renovations. But I’m sure they press is on, since Marriott will be taking over.
Ready yourselves

Would never stay there again and wished I had asked for my money back
Cons:

It was under construction and no pool or gym. And the front desk has no clue what room they put us in and while we were in bed having an intimate moment a make employee just opened our door without knocking and came in asking if anyone was in there. He came in, saw us, and left with no apology. I didn't even stay the second night I was so scared to stay there. Not good. When we told the front desk about it they basically said they had no clue we were in there.

Pros:

The Room Was Nice And Clean..

Cons:

Everytime We Walked Down The Hallway The Dogs Barked, I Didn't Know The Hotel Was Pet Friendly ...I Am Also A Disabled Lady. I Believe Ppl With Disabilities Should Always Be On The First Floor Not 5th Floor, In Case Of An Emergency...

Hill country luxury/Construction zone mashup
Pros:

Location ideal as we were visiting friends nearby. Layout of King suite perfect for us, mother & teen daughter. Liked the toiletries

Cons:

I didn't know it was under construction! 😂 All exterior doors propped fully open all night (to air out paint smell?) security concern. Countless details missing/rough/unfinished due to the ongoing renovation

Awlful stay
Pros:

Location was good. Beds were comfortable.

Cons:

No hot water for two days. Under remodeling no hot breakfast a pathetic sack lunch. Laundry out of order , fitness center out of order. No drinking water anywhere, no coffee in the lobby ( all hotels have coffee in the lobby and access to drinking water. Pathetic, cheap coffee maker in room worst i have ever seen. Felt like a stay at a low grade hotel not a La Quinta and its now a Wyndham . Marriott has enough money to close make repairs, upgrades
