Dated decor and bathroom. Desk staff unhelpful and a little surly.
Solo, older traveller checking in mid-evening on 27th May after a ten hour flight from the UK. The young man happily flirted with the young woman ahead of me (there were only two of us waiting to check in). However, I drew the short straw with this one; no hello, ‘smalltalk’ or greeting for me. It took sixty seconds to glance at my passport, respond to a question abruptly and plonk my passport and room key on the desk. Not even a “Have a nice stay” - and I thought such courtesy was invented here! Disgraceful. Cynically, I wondered if having to deal with an old guy after the young lady in a line of just two people was simply my own, unfortunate timing. To Managemet: please tell your staff that they only ever get ONE CHANCE to make a FIRST IMPRESSION. That, annoyingly, was mine and it was a stay spoiled before it had even begun for me. After that, I avoided the front desk until my escape a few days later… just in case! Nice autonomous piano and ‘grandfather’ clock in the lobby though…
Hotel is close to Pike Market Place and offers a shuttle service (for a fee) to the Cruise Terminal.
Restaurant/bar has limited options for dinner. Disappointed with the meal for the price. Added avocado to a BLT and charge was ridiculous. Salad provided was half a plate of lettuce, no tomato, cucumber etc.
Great location. Walking distance to markets and next to train station. The breakfast was superb! Just kept filling my coffee and was delicious. Great pub nearby with 120 beers on tap. So central.
Nothing.
Loved the history, the architecture - so beautiful. Staff were always friendly, especially the front door men and valets. Beds were comfortable, nice view of Seattle streets. Bathroom was surprisingly nice and good shower pressure. Great lighting as well and free water bottles was a lovely touch!
AC was not great. We had to put it pretty low to actually feel anything when we came back in to the room. Also the Wi-Fi was spotty but that wasn’t a big deal for us.
It was very nice, bearing in mind it’s an aged building
The food breakfast was never hot although it was good to eat
It had a real 1920s vibe, vintage but updated. Classic and classy.
The beds were hard and the room was small
Had a charm about it. We had a 2 queen bed room which was a suite . Liked having the full second bathroom
It was a little pricey for 2 nights
Older hotel with character and charm. Beautiful room
Location and restaurant staff were exceptional.
The check in process was....odd. The furniture in the room was ragged, and the hallways were poorly lit and gloomy. Fir the proce we paid, I'd expect opposite of dingy and gloomy.
Great location. Loved the atmosphere of this old style hotel. Immaculately kept.
The front desk could have explained how the card worked the elevator. She also could have also been more helpful in arranging shuttle service to the pier. We did it on our own.
Good location easy walking to key attractions.
Friendly staff in particular the concierge.
Shower was difficult to operate and to regulate the temperature.
A little tired in areas.
The bathtub was very nice, and we had a great view of the city from the room. Also had a drink in the bar, and Connor the bartender was a sweetheart.
The bed was very firm, and the pillows were feather pillows (which I'm allergic to) without any additional pillows in the closet to swap them for.
The location was perfect I was traveling with two 80 year old ladies. Staying by the monorail made it easy to move around. Rooms were spacious.
I loved everything about the property
Beautiful historic hotel with a great attached restaurant. The staff across the board were helpful and courteous.
Very obliging and friendly staff, clean and tidy room.
Down pillows - a hypoallergenic option would be nice.
The location was great, I could walk to everything. The room was large and I liked the old fashioned style.
Nothing
