The staff, where good, delt with a noise complaint i had with a loud TV at 2 am
WiFi did not work, everything in the room squeezed, walls are so thin you can hear next room speak, was not told about the vey low ceiling in my room that i had keep stooping down.
Very spacious and felt it had a lot of history
Slight musk smell but it's a very old building
Staff excellent, location perfect.

Hotel was in the perfect location to explore Carlisle and a two minute walk from rail station. The staff were all lovely, especially the lady cooking/serving breakfast (Maureen?). Lots of choice for breakfast from full cooked to croissants, yoghurt, cereal, fruits, muffins to name a few! Beds were very comfy and room was warm. The building itself is beautiful.
The place is in need of some refurbishment. Our bathroom was adequate but quite shabby. I'd happily stay again but definitely need to put some work into improving the accommodation.
Personnel accueillant. Les chambres sont bien et ont ce qu'il faut ! Les lits sont confortables.
Les chambres sont vieilles et les fenêtres ne sont pas assez épaisses ce qui fait que l'on entend le traffic le matin. Le ménage est pas parfait.
Just location is good

Ease of access
Great location - extremely handy for the train station and the main attractions in the city. Great value. There are 2 Wetherspoons pubs across the road serving cheap food - I went there for breakfast as it was cheaper than the hotel's offer.
The floors we're VERY creaky but there were complimentary ear plugs in the room
Perfekte Lage, direkt gegenüber vom Bahnhof. Zudem etliche Pubs in direkter Umgebung. Speditiver Check-In und freundliches Personal. Zimmer sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Preis/Leistung hervorragend.
Great position
I liked how close it is from the train station and other facilities or places. I like some of the staff and the fact there's no extra charges. Pretty laid back. The building is equally buetiful and lots of history
I didn't like the contrast from the amazing staff especially the chap that does re actments to the staff in a morning ignore you. All stood round reception desk chatting. Ignorant. I didn't like being encouraged to try breakfast again after my last visit were id been told I was too late but was booked for that time. Then given vegetarian sausage that wasn't. So agreed to give it another go for it too be dry left out for hours then while im sat there a manager comes in and asked how long its been sat there because its dry ect. The lady was lovely but come on. Then while you all stand by the reception in a nearly empty hotel for 2 days there's empty bottles and take away rubbish on your tables outside. Such a simple thing to get of your ass a remove it. Your nice staff deserve some credit by the way
£44 for a night in a town centre hotel close to the train station and many bars and restaurants.Large , clean , comfortable room. Welcoming foyer and reception area. Pleasant reception staff.
Sash windows rattled in the wind when open. One of the radiators didn't have a valve and couldn't be turned down making the room too warm. Water was scalding hot and shower was not thermostatic. It was a balancing act to get the temperature right. This is definitely a risk of injury.
