Lovely hotel, fab staff, clean rooms, central location
The location was perfect as we had travelled by train ,.I had contacted them prior to the visit with a couple of room requests and they did accommodate me as best they could. The staff were lovely Margaret checked us in and made us feel very welcome. Dale on later duty was great and done everything with a smile (even though I must have been a nuisance)
It is an old hotel and you are clearly advised of this. Sadly the hotel can't prevent noisy guests in rooms around you, I had to ask at reception for a hairdryer, this should be a standard room item. The shower was ????? Water everywhere as the shower head was on a fixed holder the slightest pressure just sent water gushing out in all directions, needs updating. No rooms had a fridge and we were there in a heatwave.
Paid for an upgrade on the day and got a basic room still with no hairdryer and overlooking bins
Nothing
It all old and dirty
Cheap. Accepted dogs. Parking onsite. Room was ok and appeared clean
Public areas grubby. No real facilities. Waited to get a drink at the bar but no one ever came so gave up and bought a drink at the shop next door. No restaurant. Room was airless and roasting hot. Admittedly they provided a fan. Very noisy as in the centre of town. Charged me £10 per dog when I was under the impression it was £10 flat. Charged me £8.00 to park in the hotel car park. Was obviously a nice hotel many years ago but all the downstairs areas have been sold off to shops etc so basically this is just a bed and breakfast. Offering crap pizza for dinner
Location was very good. Staff were pleasant and replaced a broken fan although it did take 3 hours on the hottest day of the year. Shower was fine and bed comfortable.
This hotel needs upgrading completely. The room was from the 70's . Furniture is old and worn, TV is the oldest I've seen in a hotel for a long time. The price of £72 for a single is decent but I have paid less for better.
Central very clean comfy beds great breakfast
No one in reception when we got there to get our keys
The room, although small, was comfortable with clean linen and a comfy duvet. The shower was good with the usual nice soft towels provided.
It was a hot night so I had to leave both windows open. Therefore I was aware of a lot of noise from the street below, which went on til maybe 2am. (I went to bed about 11pm). It was a Tuesday night so I did not really expect so much noise from the street/pubs I suppose. Luckily I had ear plugs with me and I eventually drifted off. This isn't the fault of the hotel - I think the World Cup may have had something to do with all the revelling/shouting and yelling...
I did find the corridors rather hot - surely there was no need for any heating at all in the building during a heatwave in June.
Good location
Small cramped room, very noisy fan.
Great location and great breakfast nothing was a problem
Nothing
We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment
Lovely comfortable room
