Location
Room small after upgrading to much noise
The room was nice, very old building which was cool. I loved the old bath and shower. We had a very long walk to our room but it felt like a private apartment. Roof windows.
The hallways smelled moldy and one of the mattresses was covered in mold as I was walking by a room being cleaned. I didn't check mine because I'd rather not know.
Just what I needed. There was even a place to store my bicycle.
The young lad who liked to dress up in he front desk was very nice funny and clever
It is a bit tired in that single room but it did me
Ontbijt werd zeer slecht bijgevuld
Zeer verouderd en slecht onderhouden
Room was very small however big enough for myself.
Location near the station
The location was central and convenient to the train station, shops and information centre. Parking was cheap (£8 for one night) and at the rear of the hotel.
The room was bland, under-furnished, mouldy, damp and had an unpleasant odour. The right window did not close properly and the local citizenry drunkenly screaming until 3-4am (on a Monday night) were not drowned out by the ear plugs placed on the beds, the visible mattress of the double bed was stained and felt ‘well used’ and dirty.
The hotel seemed run down and tired although that was expected somewhat having read other reviews.
We felt that because we did not select an upgrade option, we were banished to the worst section of the hotel - something we’ve found common when not booking directly through a non-chain/small chain hotel. Being Genius 3, we have found that larger hotel groups provide an upgrade at no extra cost. Didn’t bother complaining directly to the staff because they can only work with what they’ve got. Poor them. Definitely would have requested a better room (which I believe may exist) had we been staying for more than a night.
