Great stay!
Pros:

Stayed for a few days for a work conference. Loved being able to walk to the beach each morning for a walk before the meetings started. Beautiful view from my room balcony.

Nice Stay at the End of a Long Work Day

Beautiful Location with Non-working Features.
Pros:

I have stayed at the property for decades well before it was a Hyatt. I stay in the jacuzzi suites because I like to use the jacuzzi which has an excellent view from the balcony. On prior stays the jacuzzi was operational, and if not the hotel immediately remedied the situation. This time nothing was done to resolve the issue with the jacuzzi and the hotel reception went so far as to blame me as the guest for overflowing water. Further the WiFi router was set to OPEN rather than SECURED and I could not use it for work or connecting to my financial institutions.

A very accommodating hotel
Pros:

Ten minutes before I arrived at the Hyatt Centric I damaged my knee and could not walk. Hugo, the concierge, came to my rescue with a wheel chair and a bag of ice two times a day! I was given an ADA room which was clean and spacious, and the entire staff was very helpful. If I return to Santa Monica I plan to stay at this hotel!

Excellent hotel and stay
Pros:

The hotel was nice and pretty quiet when we were there, so I think that made a difference. The staff were able to be very attentive to us as they had the time.

Excellent customer service - wonderful stay
Pros:

We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. Tracy who works at the front desk and the staff were so incredibly accommodating and helpful. I had purchased a non-refundable reservation in mid-January for a funeral, but the funeral date was changed at the last minute (which is certainly out of the ordinary). I knew I needed to reach out to Hyatt to discuss the possibility of pushing my reservation back one week, and the Hyatt customer service were very kind and got in touch with the Hyatt Centric Delfina hotel directly, who were kind enough to make the adjustment without any change in my cost. But when I arrived to the hotel, it appeared my updated reservation was not in the system. Without panicking or dismissing me, Tracy and the front desk staff promptly got in contact with their manager, and Tracy was able to find the notes in my reservation stipulating the exception that was made. She swiftly handled everything in the reservation system to finalize all the adjustments and put us at ease. We were so grateful that the Delfina honored my original reservation costs, and the room was perfectly comfortable and clean. Wonderful stay in spite of the circumstances. The location is an easy walk to the beach which we were able to enjoy. Thank you to all the staff especially Tracy (with her AMAZING HAIR AND SMILE!!) for making our weekend so comfortable and such a pleasure.

Hyatt Santa Monica stay
Pros:

Lovely hotel very close to Santa Monica pier and beach and shops everything in walking distance . Rooms lovely and big staff really friendly . Spent a few nights eating and drinking . Flower and Eden were very helpful and helped us sort out a few things . Lovely place

Incredible bartender

Excellent (apart from the bike!)
Pros:

The staff on check-in were fantastic. They took time to find us two beautiful rooms with interconnecting doors as we were traveling as a family. A big thank you to Tracy and MissAnne for their friendly welcome and checking in experience which set the tone for the rest of the stay.

Cons:

The bikes were not good!! We hired 4 bikes, cycled to the marina and then had a flat tyre and had to walk one bike back (a 1hr 15 min walk).

With some adjustments and help from the staff, we ended up enjoying the stay very much.
Pros:

The location was great. We wanted to be able to see the ocean but not right on the beach to avoid noise and crowds, so our ocean view room with a balcony on the 8th floor was excellent. The complimentary bottles of water were given out generously. The restaurant serves good breakfast and dinner. If one wants a cheaper choice for breakfast, there are strip malls with many convenient stores nearby. We loved the Donut King, where the people were friendly, frequently giving us free donuts, and their freshly squeezed orange juice was the best. From the hotel, it is safe and pleasant to walk to the beach, to restaurants on Ocean Avenue. It's also convenient to Uber to downtown Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. They helped us to settle in and resolved minor issues for us. The room didn't have enough lights, but it didn't matter after we got used to it. With two queen size beds, the room was too small to have chairs put in, so we sat in the chairs on the balcony. The sheets were changed every day and the house-keeping ladies were very nice. The fuse blew out in the middle of one night when a hair-dryer and tea-pot were put on at the same time, but the maintenance person came quickly to reset it. We loved our stay!

Cons:

Two queen bed rooms should be a bit bigger to have some chairs next to the table.

Very disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay on what was supposed to be a happy occasion.

Sewage from the toilet backed up into the bathtub right as my daughter was getting ready to give my 5month old granddaughter a bath. I would love to be able to share pictures with you. It was absolutely disgusting. FYI, none of us had even gone to the bathroom, so the waste wasn’t even ours.
We had to change rooms 4 different times. My daughter had to do it with the baby by herself the first time because we were at our daughter’s graduation ceremony. It was very stressful and upsetting. To make things worse, the manager Viviana Reynoso tried to blame it on us by saying we flushed baby wipes down the toilet. We would NEVER do that. Besides that, when you change a baby’s diaper, you always roll the wipes up in the dirty diaper. Why would we walk all the way to the toilet to flush it???
The other instance we had was the first night. We were there for my daughter’s graduation from UCLA. First time for my daughter traveling with the baby. We picked up takeout on our way back from Westwood. My husband and I got our daughter back in the room helped her get situated with putting the baby to bed. Then we went down stairs so she could nurse and rock the baby to sleep undisturbed. We sat in the bar, ordered drinks and then proceeded to eat our hour old take out. Just as we were almost done, the manager came over and made us pack up our food and leave. We literally had a couple of bites left. We explained that we had ordered a drink and were going to order more. He wouldn’t budge, we picked up our food and sat on a bench in the hallway.
All around, this was not a pleasant stay.
