Location was great. Had an Ocean View Balcony room on the 8th floor which provided a stunning 180 degree view of the cost. Beds were cozy and room quiet was spacious enough for the 2 of us. Beach is only a few blocks away and one of the easier access locations to the beach. The pool area was very well kept and the water was the perfect temperature to cool off without a chill. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Was taken aback by the lofty $300 security fee which you'll get back after checkout except for all the additional charges like parking at a hefty $67 ($57 + $10 tax) per night for self-parking or food/drinks. I thought the parking charge was extreme but other than that the hotel is top notch.
Nice renovated hotel just away from the crazy busy parts of Santa Monica. LA hotels are expensive, and this property is no different, but I believe it was reasonable value for money.
The property had some issues with their air conditioning while I stayed, which on a very unseasonably hot few days in LA was a challenge.
Location and room design
Stole money off me
The property was clean and well maintained.
There wasn’t enough parking space for the cars if you pay for the self parking. I suggest paying the extra $6 so you don’t have to hassle with finding a parking spot.
good
nothing
The room was large with a balcony looking towards the sea.
The pool area was private, quiet and clean
Tracy and Hugo were charming and very helpful as we were new to Santa Monica
The concierge (Hugo) very helpful. Went above and beyond to help arrange transport to the outlets.
Reception staff were accommodating.
The bathroom, very small. Shower in a bathtub.
I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to write one for this hotel. From the moment I arrive (I've now been staying at this hotel consistently for work) I feel as if I am treated like I am some sort of celebrity where everyone bends over backwards for you. I bring my dog with me sometimes and she even gets love from everyone too. I travel a ton for work and I've never experienced this level of service from the valet (Andrew and others) to the front desk, concierge, restaurant (Steven is awesome) and even housekeeping. Special shout out goes to Darius and Tracy at the front, who are so warm and welcoming. Especially Darius- I never see him without a smile on his face and he is such a joy to talk to. He really goes above and beyond to greet you and also to wish you well as you are leaving. Concierge ( I think his name is Hugo), is awesome too- he is always helping me with my luggage and making sure I am taken care of. When you check in they offer you Champagne upon arrival and there is free water in the room. The hotel itself is very nice, newly remodeled, quiet, and the bar is pretty cool too. I know it's a busy hotel but it never feels overwhelming or chaotic. Beds are comfy and the room is always clean. Short walking distance to the Pier and 3rd street which is another reason why I choose it. I'm just overall very satisfied with the level of service this hotel exhibits and since I have to go to LA/ Santa Monica a lot for work, I always end up wanting to book this hotel even though I could stay anywhere in LA or surrounding areas. I usually dread these work trips but staying here makes me feel like I am on vacation. Price is awesome too and I pray they never change the amount they charge for a pet. It's the cheapest I've ever paid in a hotel. I will not be staying at my usual Marina del rey marriott or courtyard santa monica anymore, not even the Ritz - this one is much better in my opinion!!
This is a recently renovated hotel sitting just a few blocks from the beach and within walking distance of the wonderful downtown Santa Monica area full of shops and excellent restaurants. The hotel is beautifully redecorated and our room (a king bed with partial ocean-view balcony) was clean, functional and very well-maintained.
The fitness room is also well-maintained and has plenty of cardio and strength training options. We didn't visit the pool area during our stay but it appeared to be very clean and full of seating options.
We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed excellent service from the waitstaff. A small hiccup with the food preparation quality but certainly not enough to ruin our overall experience. We might have just caught them on a bad day.
I would highly recommend this hotel based on location as well as amenities and room quality. If you can score a balcony room the views are amazing.
We stayed at the Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica as a family of 3 in August 2025. Location was perfect for our requirements whilst in LA. Check in was really swift and everybody we came across at the hotel was helpful and friendly. The restaurant served a lovely breakfast and lunch around the pool one day was really good. Our room was fine, a little tired but we weren't in it that much. The pool area was really lovely and we enjoyed a few hours there one day. All in all, a great hotel for what we needed.
The staffs were nice. Perfect Location !
Location, facilities and staff
Nothing
My recent stay at Hyatt Centric was a mixed experience.
On the positive side, the room itself was clean, neat, and well-maintained. The amenities provided were satisfactory and met expectations. Housekeeping standards were good, and the overall comfort of the room was not an issue.
However, the experience at the front office and bell desk was disappointing. The staff were not particularly welcoming and came across as quite matter-of-fact in their interactions. There was very little warmth or hospitality, which significantly affected the overall impression of the stay.
In contrast, the restaurant staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive. Their positive attitude stood out and made dining a pleasant experience.
While the physical aspects of the hotel were satisfactory, the inconsistency in service—especially at the front desk—left room for improvement. I hope the management takes note, as hospitality is as much about attitude as it is about amenities.
I booked this hotel for my friend's honeymoon and paid for full ocean view. However, they were assigned to the room with the partial view.
Check-in staff was not professional and the hotel offered wedding amenity but never happened.
