Nice and comfortable

I stayed at the Sonesta a number of years ago when it was still a hotel. It has now become just like every mid-range priced hotel a HOSTEL. That means that there are no amenities, no restaurant, no room service, no laundry, no robes, light housekeeping, dirty carpets, trash in the hallways, not wanting to touch surfaces, no bill sent at the end of the stay, yet they take a $150.00 for incidentals with nothing to purchase when you check in, the only good thing is the location.
The HOSTEL is tired and bleak. Not fun, not nice, not anything. Needs a major overhaul or to close. But if you want a HOSTEL this is for you!!
Great location! Lots of food and shopping within walking distance.
The staff were not very friendly or helpful.
The rooms are fine. The drawers in the dresser would never close but the bed is fine, the shower hot and the space is ample.
The service is utter trash. From beginning to end. The rude security guy who wouldn't even say hello when being let into a room The valet guys who couldn't figure out their own kiosk. The complete jerk at the front desk who couldn't be bothered to do anything but the bare minimum. The housekeeping staff that both told me rooms were made up daily, and that they would get to my room soon but then never did that day. Or the next. When they finally did, they made the bed with the TV remote still inside the sheets. The coffee stand that had no large cups. The elevator whose out of order sign had dust on it its been there so long.
But the worst of all was the banquet dinner I attended. We had to go into the back hallways to find a single server as people were running out of salad dressing and water. The bartender had bottle caps and empty wine bottles everywhere. There was no AV person, so attendees figures out the sound on their own. ALL of these details were better than the both cold and dry chicken that was served. Worst banquet food ever. Only slightly better service.
One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever encountered, especially in what is supposed to be a higher end property. Do not pay to stay here.
Great stay good location you can walk to every you need food, bars, target shopping etc.
Comfortable bed, no room service, towels smelled of bleach
The lobby wonderful but rooms just not more than 3 stars dust on items chipping paint it's like a nice motel 6..tried to stay for tge weekend but will be checking early had a complaint to the overnight staff and had no concern at all just saying it's not our fault okay thanks please do more research before staying here
The room was dusty—the headboard was a complete dust trap. If you’re going to have that type of headboard, at least clean it with a Swiffer duster. The toilet was leaking water, the tub had someone’s curly black hairs on it. The pillows were dirty, and there were lipstick stains on the wall. The AC unit sounded like it was burping throughout the night.
This was room 1509, although you wouldn’t know it since there was no plaque near the door. They tried to move me to another room (1505), but when I walked in, the couch had a chocolate stain on it and the shower rod was hanging off the wall.
The beds and pillows also didn’t have any protective covers, which is concerning from a hygiene standpoint.
Save yourself the trouble and try another hotel nearby.
Location was decent
bathroom wasn't totally clean with some hairs on the tub, used toilet paper rolls, small and cramped room. Decor was boring corporate decor.
Sonesta Rittenhouse was an amazing place to stay. I was here for a conference and it was such a convenient location in the city center ! Thank you to David at the front desk who made our stay most memorable !
David Hornstein at the desk took incredible care of us. We had difficulty with our billing because of complexity on our end, but he handled it warmly and with professionalism and got the whole process resolved immediately. He is a fantastic manager and we are so happy to have interacted with him.
