It was a good experience
The staff were quite friendly and accommodating so that was one good thing about our stay.
Before coming here, I heard a lot of good things about this hotel and at first on arrival, it seemed like it would live up to the hype as the entrance/lobby area looked really nice but that’s about where it ended.
We were met with disappointment as soon as we got out of the elevator because the first impression I got was as if I had stepped back in time to the 80s/90s. I’m not sure when this hotel was opened but it looks like it hasn’t seen any refurbishments since the doors were first opened. The room decor was dated, bathroom had no modern facilities, the bathtub was leaking and was lacking a handheld shower head, the central AC system wasn’t working and so we were given portable fans and AC units that required a hose which had to hang out the window the whole time. One room had really poor, dim lighting (bulbs were dying out) so we had to ask for maintenance to change the light bulbs. The restaurant menu was very limited and ironically overpriced compared to the much nicer restaurant at the Hyatt Regency hotel (The Kitchen).
Lastly, we were told at the reception that there was an “indoor pool” but it’s obvious they didn’t know what an indoor pool is… it’s an outdoor pool on the second floor and the design of the building blocks the sun from warming it up so be prepared for a chilly swim.
It’s convince to the city centre
It’s an old hotel which requires renovating all the old furniture to the walls and facilities in the rooms.
