PROS:
1.) The hotel location was close to the job site
2.) Due to work delays, I extended my stay by one day. The phone representative was very helpful and kept me in the same room but... (see #8)
3.) Alex and Kelsey were courteous and tried to help with some problems.
CONS:
1.) The ceiling began leaking, soaking the carpet in my room. I was moved from a single king room to a double queen.
2.) The double queen room had a bathtub with a slippery bottom and no bath mat or non-skid adhesives. On first use, I slipped getting out of a shower and pulled a muscle in my leg, landed on my back, and hit my head. I told Alex about this and asked for a bath mat. He said there are none.
3.) My time to leave for work is 6:15 AM. Most Holiday Inns start breakfast at 6:00 AM. Since this location starts at 6:30 AM, there was no breakfast available. (I also noticed the breakfast room temperature was 68 degrees)
4.) When getting the free 24-hour coffee, there were no creamer cups, powder, or canister. Lynn told me that creamer is only available in the refrigerator after breakfast starts.
5.) The dryer was broken, so I could not do laundry until I spoke to Kelsey at 11:30 AM on July 31st. He said they would dry my clothes after I washed them (so I did that)
6.) The air conditioner in the laundry room does not work.
7.) The front desk has no laundry soap or dryer sheets to purchase for laundry!
8.) After work on my extended day, I could not enter the building from the side door or my room! I walked (limped) around the building to discover my room keys were disabled. After being charged over $313.00 for an extra night, who needs this aggravation?
9.) The entry door in the room left a gap even when locked, letting in light and sound from the hallway. NOT conducive to sleep!
10.) Everything, including food and beverages, was frozen in the room refrigerator.
Location and staff
Dampness in the rooms. Floor—carpet was eternally damp and the tile was slippery. It is a humid time of year but they need to figure something to remedy the situation.
The rooms are nice could use an upgrade and need the coffee machines. The pool was ok breakfast was great. The area is very will kept. The view is phenomenal the buffet has plenty of options. Lynn made my family feel right at home. My grandson dropped his milk and was upset Lynn cleaned the spill and brought him another cup of milk and gently explained that mistakes happen and gave him a high five. That made my entire day because my grandson is autistic and Lynn stopped what she was doing to ensure he was ok. The staff is very helpful and kind. Pet friendly is a plus.
Very friendly staff.
I received superior service from all staff here. If you can, reserve a room that overlooks the marina because the view is beautiful and relaxing. Next door is a great restaurant and gift shop. The hotel is right on Hwy 17 and it’s very easy to get to the attractions in North Myrtle. The pool and dining area overlook the marina.

Service. The room was not yet ready when we arrived and it was already time for check-in. They said sorry about it and told us that the reason why it is not ready yet is because they have new housekeeping staff and that they are still training. They told us that they need to clean the room first and asked us to give them 30mins. We agreed because we didn't have a choice. We were able to check-in at 4:15PM which is late. Another thing is that we were supposed to check-in at 3:00PM because it's the time indicated on Booking.com only to find out that the time of check-in is at 4:00. We were really disappointed. That was the first time we experienced an awful service from a Holiday Inn branch.
The location is good.
There was hair on the floor of the shower and the entire floor in the bathroom was wet after taking a shower. There were stains on the comforter that was on the bed and trash under the bed. Also the hot water in the bathroom sink would not get hot. We were really disappointed with our stay.
