It is right across the street from the tourism center, so any tour pick ups and drop offs are at your doorstep. The decor is very cute!
Also, the bar is really nice. Staff are all very friendly.
Our room did not having working AC or mini-fridge. By the last night of our 3 day stay, they finally fixed it. They also did not refill the soaps and shampoo during the room cleaning, so it was completely empty during shower time—I had to call and request it. Also, the shower is very dangerous. You had to step into it, I’d say around 8 inches high and hug the bathroom door to slide in. I cannot accurately describe the weird way the tub is elevated other than, it’s high off the ground. Also, there is no shower curtain and just a piece of glass that protects the sink, so water will inevitably fall on the floor.

The staff were fantastic. It's a nice hotel, but that isn't what made the stay enjoyable, it was the warm staff - the breakfast team, the concierge and doormen. If we return to Lyon, we will be back at Le Hotel Royal.
The internet system simply drove me nuts. I had to enter my cookie preferences up to three times on every device at least once per day. It seems to be a shortcoming at all Accor hotels.

really old and run-down property. not 5 stars. water in sink doesnt go down. shower water weak pressure and inconsistent temperature. worn walls with holes and scratches. depressing breakfast room with no windows. elevator super slow.
