Had an amazing experience good service a special recommendations to Beatrice during night shift who's service was warm and great 👍👍👍
From the first moment we arrived we were welcomed by all the staff. Notably, Nixon who met us when we first arrived at midnight, Christine who tended to us during our evening meal in the hotel restaurant, Caroline who arranged transport to the Giraffe Centre (definitely worth a visit) and many others. Their friendliness, professionalism and overall attitude made our visit to the Sarova Stanley, a pleasure. Also, the room was fabulous. Thanks to all.

The bar
Breakfast you pay for should be available when you require it.
The staff are amazing. It’s a wonderful walk into the history of Nairobi and you can see so much of it in the photos all around. The spa and pool were lovely to enjoy, Elan even got the steam ready with eucalyptus for me. and there are many places to eat and the exchange bar is really comfortable. Beds were comfortable too.
Nothing. It was a great place to spend our last night in Kenya.
Feels like a 5 Star hotel
Nothing to dislike
Great location and fantastic staff.
Bathrooms are dated but very clean.
Very friendly staff and speedy check in.
Bathrooms dated and hard to regulate shower temperature.
Great hotel, lovely staff especially in the Thai restaurant, service and food was excellent, would highly recommend
It is a very nice historical hotel in downtown Nairobi - with a lot of exciting hustle and bustle going on outside (I quite enjoy that!). I loved the swimming pool area - and the sweet staff who asked me if I was okay when I visited the restaurant with very colorful socks and no shoes made my laugh! (I think the name was Jackie, thank you for the laughter!). Would definitely come back!
I had the pleasure of visiting the rooftop bar at Sarova Stanley yesterday, and it was such an amazing experience.
I remember some time back I visited one of the luxurious hotel in the city dressed a bit “funny,” and I could see servers gathering in corners, took time to attend me and probably gossiping. It honestly didn’t feel welcoming.
My experience at Sarova Stanley stood out even more — nobody judged my "funny" appearance.
From the entrance, the team was warm, respectful, and genuinely welcoming
A special thank you to Barman Jacob, who served me so professionally and warmly. He was attentive, friendly, and excellent at suggestive selling, making great recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect throughout my visit. The rest of the team (whose names I unfortunately can’t recall) were equally welcoming and provided outstanding service till l left.
It’s always the people who make an experience memorable, and this team certainly did. I will definitely be back and highly recommend the rooftop bar to anyone visiting Nairobi.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Susan from the Front Office for the incredibly thoughtful postpartum surprise gift she offered my husband and me during our visit. It was such a kind and unexpected gesture, and it truly meant a lot to us as new parents.
Susan’s warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made our experience even more special. Small acts of kindness like this make a lasting impression, and we felt truly welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you, Susan, for going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We are very grateful and will always remember your kindness.
My wife and I were not staying at the hotel, but asked the Concierge (Joseph) for assistance watching our bags for an hour and with confirming a pickup by a shuttle service scheduled at the hotel. Even though we were not hotel guests (though we were dining), he treated us as first class guests calling the shuttle manager personally and ensuring safe and timely departure. Thank you Joseph and to Sarova Stanley. Still one great survivor of premier Kenyan hotels from colonial AND independence days. Older folks who backpacked through the continent will remember it’s welcome and its role enabling communications among travelers (back when cell phones weren’t invented and regular phone service not widespread).
Best experience in Thai chi and the wine was the best at sarova Stanley
The Sarova Stanley is an amazing hotel. It is a beautiful building, immaculately maintained, thoroughly modern, yet with the feel of a world-class, historic hotel. The Thai Chi restaurant is exceptional for the quality of the food and the ambience, and the breakfast buffet, especially featuring local dishes on Friday mornings, is wonderful. The best part though is the hotel staff: warm and welcoming Hospitality Professionals, knowledgeable about their mission, proud of what they do, and determined to provide an excellent level of customer service and experience. I recommend this special place unconditionally - and plan to return!
Beatrice Wangare served us well. She was courteous, patient, professional and respectful. We recommend her for a promotion.
Also, the food (dawa, samosas, lyonnaise potatoes & salmon) were sumptuous.
Keep it up
I highly recommend this hotel. It’s downtown in the CBD. The amenities are perfect with very nice rooms, swimming pool and fitness centre. The buffet breakfast was superb and they even had real maple syrup for the pancakes. We booked an executive room with the executive lounge access. There’s a happy hour every day with great drinks and good appetizers. The staff overall at the hotel is the most friendly that I’ve ever encountered and I’ve been traveling for decades. I’d particularly like to call out Emily, Susana, and Olive in the exec lounge for their lovely hospitality! This hotel is a true oasis downtown.
Great food, lovely ambience, and top-tier service from Alex. He was attentive, polite, and made our visit memorable. Definitely coming back!
We stayed there just for a long day between flights and enjoyed everything: spacious room, rooftop pool, bar, and had a delicious lunch at the restaurant. Also a drink at the legendary cafe. Everything was excellent: always smiling and polite staff, amazing meal, heated pool, and my partner enjoyed a sauna too. It is a heritage hotel with a rich history.
We definitely will stay there again if we visit Nairobi.
