El personal
El termo para calentar la leche y agua de la habitación tenía moho, el grifo de la ducha cero presión, la cama no era de matrimonio sino dos camas pequeñas juntas
Breakfast for £10 was excellent value and a good selection of food at the buffet
Check in staff were lovely and helpful thank you.
Nothing
Rat in bedroom, filthy vent pumping air into room, two nights of engineering works on rail track below at 2 &3 pm in morning fir an hour each time
I will start with the good- staff are brilliant and really friendly. Now for the bad well I can’t say bad but the rooms are very out dated. Air con ( see photo) does not blow out cold air and is very noisy and we booked a deluxe room. Are room was also meant to be city view which if you take photos and zoom in very close it is. We only booked in for 1 night which I am glad of if it was more I would have gone elsewhere. Would I stay here again. I think not unless it had a big upgrade.
We stayed here as friends in April going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. We stayed one night.
I have to say I was very happy with the hotel. We stayed Tues-Weds and the rate was very reasonable! On arrival staff were friendly. We received a coupon for a free cup of tea (weirdly only for one person) and some other vouchers off the restaurant but we didn’t eat there.
Our room was a twin on the 12th floor. It was very spacious and had a bath tub. Beds were comfy and there were robes/slippers and even some chocolates. I guess the décor is a little dated and older looking but perfectly fine. Very clean and comfy. Outside was quiet and we slept well.
Breakfast was good and plenty of it. As a vegan I was happy to see such a good selection of plant milks. My only comment would be the vegetable fried rice (which looked great!) had lots of egg mixed in even though 2 of the other trays right next to it were egg dishes. I just thought it would have been nice to make this available to people who can’t eat eggs since there were already plenty of eggs on offer!
I like the Kensington High Street area. The hotel is very well situated for the tube station and plenty of shops. It was a 20 min walk to the Royal Albert Hall. I would definitely stay again.
location, staff and comfort
Cooked Breakfast was lukewarm and some of it cold.
TV was not working
Convenience, very nice lobby, full breakfast buffet with a lot of options.
The room was very run down, the room door did not close very well and the bolt did not engage to lock it.
The staff at the Copthorne is amazing. We really enjoyed the food at the Green Stag.
Stayed for two nights, Arrived about 3pm. Check-in easy and relatively quick. We needed a drink and a snack before we were heading out for the evening. The Cafe was open, however had a very limited selection of snacks. On returning at 10,30pm we found the bar closed. Room service stooped at 9,30pm
The following morning, breakfast was good and very reasonably priced at £10 a head. Returning at 1,30 on we were unable to get anything other than a sandwich and coffee in the cafe.
We went to the Bugis Restaurant for dinner which was good although the 2 course meal (B choices) ar £29.88 was misleading as rice was extra. Staff serving needed training as trued to serve the main course without removing the dishes from the first course! Bottle of wine and water just put on the table unopened. One guest had to ask someone on the next table to open their bottle of water!
The room was ok. The towels were replaced and waist bin emptied. Beds weren’t made and coffee mugs not replaced, pillows are very hard and in beed if replacement.
All in all our stay was disappointing considering the four star rating. Staff did not engage and were not interested in serving customers, preferring to stand around chatting to each other
