We had an amazing experience from the moment we arrived, and the hotel staff truly set the tone for our stay.
A special thank you to Rajesh, poieia, and juliia for making our check-in experience so welcoming and seamless. They were incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely made us feel excited to be there. They took the time to answer our questions, made the process effortless, and went above and beyond to ensure we felt taken care of.
It’s employees like them who make a great hotel experience unforgettable. Their hospitality, positive attitudes, and exceptional customer service did not go unnoticed. We truly appreciated all of their help and look forward to staying here again because of the outstanding welcome they provided.
Thank you again, Rajesh, poieia, and juliia—you made the perfect first impression!
I come to London every year during Wimbledon for the past 4 years and I always come to Bugis to eat as it reminds me of home cooked food. The staff, especially Eva is so lovely and welcoming. She even remembered that I have been here before and welcomed me back after a year. I have always loved the hainanese chicken rice at bugis, but I think either the chef has changed or the ingredients has changed. The rice is not as fragrant and so dry. The chicken is a bit dry and not as juicy as it used to be. I will be coming back but I think I will not be ordering hainanese chicken anymore.
This was my second stay at the hotel. It was as lovely as the first time. The hotel is superbly located and well equipped. I was especially delighted when staff seemed to remember me from last time. In particular, Teigist, whose attention and warmth during breakfast service was a real highlight. Thank you! I hope I will get to stay again.
Fabulous hotel with wonderful staff. Great location. Can’t fault it.
Nothing to dislike

We had an amazing stay at the Bailey’s hotel. We were here for 3 nights and we had a great time. The hotel is in a great location and there are many restaurants near by. The staff at the hotel made us feel at home. Breakfast was really good. A big shout out for Teigist . She was very efficient and kind. She made sure, we were enjoying our breakfast every morning and it was a great start of our day. We highly recommend The Baileys hotel as it made our time in London much more enjoyable and memorable.
Overall, we had a lovely stay at The Bailey's.
It started out w/ a bit of dispute about the room we were in as we were expecting air conditioning and the A/C in that room simply was not working. When we entered the room, there was a rotating fan in place which wasn't doing anything but blowing hot air around. It was 30º C in London so not ideal to be stuck in a hot room. The real thing I took issue with was being told by a receptionist that it WAS in fact working - it absolutely was not - and that it was "just too hot outside for it to get cold inside." I felt a bit gaslighted. We chose the hotel because we needed a room with air conditioning due to health issues... so weren't happy to have to spend a night being excessively hot, as the had no other rooms to move us to on night one.
That all said, manager Rajesh rectified the situation the next day and upgraded our room to one where the air conditioning was working very well. Rajesh was very friendly and patient with us. We truly appreciated him and all of his help. We went out for the day when our room was being changed, so the hotel staff kindly moved our belongings into the new room.
From that point, we had a lovely stay at The Bailey's and we would definitely return as long as we have a room w/ working air conditioning. The room was quiet and we always felt safe. The bed was comfy. The luxury double room was spacious. The bathroom was modern w/ some lovely toiletries included. There was a large TV not that we spent much time watching it. There were also coffee/tea making facilities in the room. It was clean/tidy and every area smelled fresh and clean.
So, if you're thinking of staying here, it's very central/convenient (right across from Gloucester Road tube station plus Starbucks, Wing Stop, Chipotle, Nando's, Tesco). Just make sure you get a room w/ working air conditioning if that matters to you. It was great value for money as well.
Love this place! The people are amazing as well…
Nothing - it’s brilliant x

As I write this, London is heading for another heat wave. We were there for the one in late June. Be advised that the air-conditioning at Bailey's does not work when it is hot out. The ground floor will be cool when you walk in but the rooms and the hallways will be painful. The fifth floor in particular will be like a sauna -- heat rises.
We were told that our Junior Suite (their largest room) would be air conditioned. What that meant in practice was that a small amount of cool air came out right above the door -- but not remotely enough to cool the room. The hotel has simply not invested in an HVAC system that will actually cool the rooms and hallways when it's hot out. In some rooms they will put in a portable unit that vents through a tube in the window -- it makes a noise and blows some cool air, but not remotely enough to actually cool the room, and the open window for the big hose negates any effect.
We transferred to the Rembrandt, a friendly hotel at the same price, and breathed a big sigh of relief. So if it's hot out, you've been warned.
The other warning is that their website shows rooms as having walk-in showers, but when you get there you may be sent to a room with only a tub. If you have mobility or accessibility issues with damn tubs, when you complain they will tell you "so what if our website is misleading, you never told us you couldn't use a tub." When you point out that you had no reason to know they were posting misleading descriptions, they basically repeat "so what." Another reason we cleared out of there.
Desk staff were very pleasant and helpful
Two dead cats on the lobby table. Apparently an homage to the owner.
