Seelenloses gut organisiertes zentrales Stadthotel
Pros:

Das Hotel ist prinzipiell sehr gut organisiert und offenbar stark von Kurzzeitgästen und Gruppen frequentiert. Es wird alles zugesagt (Check in um 12.00 h), aber nur bei beharrlichem Nachfragen dann auch realisiert. Alle Einrichtungen funktionieren und im Zimmer ist alles sehr sauber. In wenigen Gehminuten ist man im Rizal-Park und am Nationalmuseum. Nach Intra Muros und Chinatown fährt man 10 Minuten mit Taxi, Bus oder TukTuk. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung.

Cons:

Mit Bayview hat das Ganze wenig zu tun, man sieht über ein Industriegebiet seitlich das Meer. Die Dachbar ist ein geschlossener Brutkasten ohne Aussicht und nur ab und an geöffnet, die Sauberkeit weicht vom sonstigen Hotel stark ab. Die Ecken werden offenbar als Abstellkammer genutzt.

OK for a couple of days
Pros:

Comfortable room, good location for visiting the old town. Breakfast was ok.

Cons:

Noisy AC, bathroom door difficult to open & close. Annoying flashing light outside bathroom which would not turn off. Thin walls, could hear guests in the next room.

Good if you can cope with all night traffic noise.
Pros:

Most things were fine. Breakfast ok.

Cons:

Noise: given a room at the front with traffic noise, especially from motorbikes, all night. Managed to get some sleep but would avoid such a location in future.

The location

Cons:

They charge a corkage fee if you order outside food, which would be fine if their own menu in their restaurant wasn't so limited. It’s hard to justify the cost when the options are so few. To make matters worse, it’s the only hotel I’ve encountered that charges a fee even for food eaten in your own room.

Pros:

You get what you pay for. I hated this place. Passionately. It smelled terrible. It was super dated. Staff was pretty rude. They left a sheet out where you had to account for the two low quality towels you got by signing for them to ensure you didn't steal them. I'm looking for something redeeming here.... we were looking for an easy place to land after just getting off a flight. Oh, if I could do a take back. We had a light which flickered on and off all night. When we tried to tell reception so no other guest would suffer like we did, they treated us as though we broke something. No, your hotel is just worn down and sad, actually, and we didn't break anything. I'm sure 45 years ago this hotel was located in a nice area or there was some redeeming quality about it. I fail to find a single thing. And, walk either direction and there are homeless people on the streets, so, I'd not advise walking the area at night.

Mostly ok, but had bugs in the room
Pros:

Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Breakfast was good. The room was large and comfortable enough, as was the bathroom. The location was ideal to get to the US embassy early in the morning.

Cons:

Overall, it was ok, but finding 2 cockroaches (one of which crawled on me while I was in bed) completely soured my stay. When I mentioned it to the front desk staff at checkout, they didn't seem that concerned or embarrassed. They offered a free car to the airport, but I already had one booked and waiting. They then offered to give me a discount on my next stay, but I said I don't want to stay there again if they have roaches. For the amount paid, there shouldn't be bugs in my bed.
In the end, I only got an apology when I said I was going to write about it in my review.
A word of advice: Own up to and apologize for sub-standard conditions and give assurance that the problem will be dealt with, and not just to appease a dissatisfied guest, but to show that you are willing to improve.

The location and view from our room over the bay was great!

Cons:

The surprise fees including 50% corkage fee, deposit requirement on check in as well as the broken items in room including blinking light, leaking bathroom.
