If I could give this a 0 I would it was that bad.

From the get go, upon check-in I found out that the single bed with pull out sofa bed room I had reserved months in advance was not possible because they no longer have sofa beds and attempted to charge me extra to put me in a room with two double beds. However I got the manager to agree to waive that extra charge because the room they originally wanted to put me in was not as advertised and would not work with my wife and 2 kids and only a single bed with no pull out sofa bed.
Once that was resolved and we were checked into the room with 2 beds, the lack of cleanliness of the room was very quickly evident. There were sizeable dead bugs on the floor (not sure if they were cockroaches), the shower tub was cracked/chipped and painted over to cover the cracks and chips in the tub enclosure, there were cracks in the drywall and chipped drywall, leftover drywall texture sprayed over hanging framed photo in the bathroom, and the floors felt dirty walking on them. Knowing that I had booked a budget friendly hotel (if you can call it that), my expectations were low, but our experience fell way below that. The entire building also reeked of smoke, either from cigarettes or other substances, even though the entire building claims to be smoke-free. Despite all of this, my family and I slept 3 nights (5/23, 5/24, and 5/25) into our original 5 night booking. By the following morning (5/24) after picking up breakfast to-go from a local restaurant and coming back to our room to feed my family, I was ready to set down our breakfast on what I assumed was an eating table (even though the "full kitchen" hotel room had no chairs for someone to sit down and eat), when I saw what looked like a small cockroach walking across the table. I immediately killed the bug with a napkin and we decided to eat on the beds instead. After this incident I decided enough was enough and I would not put my family through any more of this miserable stay and experience and checked out the same day, 2 days earlier than my original booking (original checkout day was for 5/28) and stayed at the hotel across the street for the last 2 nights of our trip which was a 180 degree difference in quality of stay. I wanted to explain the situation to the manager when I was checking out but was told there was no manager on duty and the front desk person simply processed my checkout. I didn't bother asking for another room because I could tell the more I looked around the building that no other room would be an improvement. I was shocked to even see a Tripadvisor decal on the window asking for reviews knowing how bad this place is. In my over 20 years of renting hotel rooms, I understand there are some expectations with booking a budget friendly hotel, but this was far below that and I have never experienced a hotel stay as bad as this and never plan on booking another Extended Stay America hotel in the future because of this experience.

We stayed only long enough to book a room elsewhere. The hallway to the room was dark and scary. The room was filthy and run down. Disgusting debris between the stove and counter. Painted Plywood screwed to the front of the dishwasher and a long black hair on the bed (I'm blond). Pics to follow

The cleanliness of the rest area

I do love that they have a grab and go breakfast for the guest and they have their own laundry room. I wish they had a/c conditioner instead of a wall a/c conditioner.
