The room was quiet and comfortable with a good shower, and was located close to my business destination.
After hours check-in was complicated as the reception is only manned during business hours.
The hotel does not provide any breakfast and there was nowhere close by to secure a good breakfast.
The television was limited to free-to-air stations. One streamer would have been appreciated?
There were no shelves of any kind in the shower cubicle, meaning all bottles had to remain on the floor.

An amazing old building that would be incredible if fully restored (though I understand how cost prohibitive that would be). The Rothbury is still full of character and just a fascinating place in time. I particularly loved the heritage elevators! The rooms were very spacious, quiet and clean, and the Wi-Fi was reliable.
General wear and tear/disrepair, food left behind by previous guests (as mentioned in other reviews I've seen). Carpets in the hallway had a distinct stale smell. Check-in was complicated by the fact that the online check in link eventually took me to a confirmation-type screen saying "you are checked in" with no information on how to actually get into the building or retrieve a room key. I'm not sure whether this was an error in the page loading or something similar - could easily have been a one-off issue. In any case, when I called the after hours contact, I was walked through getting a lobby safe open to retrieve the key (though I don't know how we would have gotten into the building in the first place if another guest hadn't let us in) and the rest of the stay passed without incident.
Do note that parking isn't included in your booking price. I booked Saturday afternoon to Monday lunch directly across the road at the Cornerstone parking lot for $75 total.

Beautifully decorated, comfortable, great location.
No soap in the bathroom. No info about the wifi password. No response to attempts to contact the place via Booking.com during our stay.
Bed clean & comforable. All the rest was well used.
Lack of salt & pepper, no small bottle of milk for starters.
We had a fantastic stay at the Rothbury Hotel. Gaven was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond—he even shared the history of the building with us, which was really interesting. The lobby and interior are stunning, showcasing a beautiful 1930s art deco style. Our room was a wonderful surprise as well, especially considering the age of the building—comfortable, charming, and full of character. We highly recommend staying here!

Great location but room could do with proper blinds as the ones installed are very thin and do not provide full privacy or block outside light at night
Check-in was a painful mess with multiple calls required to even get in the door, which took about 20mins to get in (no staff on site).
No towels.
