Absolutely comfortable and fantastic stay!

I am a busy mother of three kids and I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel! They were absolutely wonderful to accommodating our needs. Tatiana arranged our pick from the airport which was seamless even at 11:30 pm at night! Tatiana helped me plan quite a few of our wonderful excursions in Quito! She even arranged for an affordable outdoor laundry service to help me with my kids as it is not easy traveling with my 11, 5 and 4 year olds! My husband and I enjoyed a hot stone massage at the spa and the pool was heated! Tatiana, Muchas gracias! And thank you everyone at the Swissotel from Carlos to Tatiana!

The on site staff were attentive and the room was comfortable, save for the lack of curtains as mentioned below. The breakfast buffet was very generous.

Cons:

The room only had a sheer blind and no curtain or block out blind which meant that the street lights (and sounds) were streaming in all night. It was a bit weird as there was a prop curtain at either end, which was about 60cm wide but nothing to draw all the way across, seeming to suggest they think curtains serves an aesthetic rather than functional purpose?

My biggest issue is that I was double charged for my room and was unable to resolve it with the hotel. They said the first card I used had failed so I used a different card, but the charge had not failed and I paid twice. They were responsive to my first couple of emails to say they could only see one payment at their end and could I send additional evidence beyond snips of my transaction history, and when I sent through my official card statements, the communication went dead despite follow ups and it became necessary to claim it back through my bank. In the end, the communication going silent disappointed me most of all.

Klassisches Swissotel
Pros:

Ein klassisches Hotel mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Großer angeschlossene Fitnessclub. Von dort kann man sehr gut in der Nachbarschaft mit vielen Restaurants spazieren gehen. Es scheint dort sehr sicher, zumindest tagsüber.

Our last night in Quito and Swissotel made it great!
Pros:

We were pleasantly surprised to find a heated swimming pool at the hotel. Not too crowded. Towels were scarce at 5 pm, but we obtained two.

Drinks and “snack dinner” in the bar with an inexpensive red wine, meat and cheese board, and Jamon pizza (which we could only eat half). Breakfast buffet was very well presented with a variety of regular and Ecuadorian foods! The room was nicely kept and we slept well. I disagree with a previous review which said the beds were too hard! Enjoy!!!

En la cena de Navidad en Cafe Quito nos apagaron la música mucho antes de las 12. No siquiera nos pusieron el conteo y estábamos perdidos. Cuando me enviaron la información de la cena constaba que era hasta las 12:00. A las 11:00 comenzaron a levantar toda la comida y las sillas. Me pareció una falta de respeto para las familias que seguíamos ahí. Sentimos que nos estaban sacando del lugar.
