As piscinas no entanto a marcação das espreguiçadeiras pelos hóspedes com toalhas e passar maior parte do tempo sem estarem presentes, deveria ser melhor controlada pelos funcionários sendo que alguns vão embora e deixam ficar as toalhas e maior divulgação das regras de utilização e abandono das toalhas.

Cons:

O bar ao pé da piscina ser uns hambúrguer de Anguns seco frio sem sabor, o bolo do caco congelado e a desfazer-se, uns cogumelos grelhados secos, frios e com algumas horas de confecção, queijo chedar!!!, verdadeiramente uma vergonha para um hotel de 5 estrelas, mas como somos Portugueses...

More expensive than the quality. You may have to stay the entire night in the terrace.
Pros:

Close to Funchal city, and airport. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Close to the ocean and two clean and warm outdoor pools

Cons:

There's literally no ventilation in the obey and other common areas.

Breakfast is no way close to even a 4 star hotel in terms of variety and options.

The main discomfort is the terrace, where we got locked (twice, with stress) out because of the weird terrace doors. We shouted and someone heard us and came for rescue.

Pros:

El buffe tanto del desayuno como el de la cena excelente. La ubicación de la piscina ideal.El diseño del hotel muy bonito.

Cons:

Falta de buena animación después de la cena.
En la habitación había un fuerte olor a cañería

Un excellent hôtel idéalement situé à Funchal
Pros:

Très bon séjour au Pestana Carlton. L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter Funchal et ses environs, que ce soit à pied ou en voiture.

Nous avons eu la chance d’être surclassés et avons ainsi bénéficié d’une chambre spacieuse et agréable. Le personnel est très aimable, attentionné et disponible.

Les différentes piscines sont très agréables et l’hôtel dispose de nombreux transats, ce qui est un vrai plus. Il est également possible d’accéder directement à l’océan depuis l’hôtel pour se baigner.

Le buffet du petit déjeuner est bon et offre un choix appréciable.

L’hôtel dispose par ailleurs de deux petits parkings payants, très pratiques compte tenu de la localisation. Lors de notre séjour, l’un des deux était même gratuit.

Une très bonne adresse pour séjourner à Funchal, que je recommande.

Cons:

Le principal point négatif concerne la décoration de l’hôtel, qui est assez vieillissante et mériterait d’être modernisée pour être davantage en adéquation avec le standing de l’établissement.

Nous étions au 1er étage et notre chambre était située dans une zone de passage entre deux bâtiments. Le couloir pouvait donc être assez bruyant le soir, notamment avec les allées et venues des autres clients. Si vous avez la possibilité de choisir ou de demander un étage plus élevé, je vous le recommande.

Cela reste néanmoins un détail par rapport aux nombreux points positifs de l’hôtel, et nous avons passé un très bon séjour.
