Holiday Inn Express London - Dartford by IHG

The hotel itself is very comfortable with good sized rooms, friendly staff and good food. What ruined it was receiving a parking ticket from their parking partner. I had paid at the machine inside reception and paid for parking until 11:00 the following morning.

Now I've received a ticket and have to go through the appeals procedure, even though the hotel and the parking company are aware of the problem with the machine.

I will not be staying here on future trips to Dartford.

Found staff on reception and restaurant to be very nice and helpful. Hotel could do with a makeover, room not very warm, on our stay, but clean. However, in the restaurant my wife had something light for her evening meal and I had fish and chips. There was a good helping of chips and peas, but the fish I would describe as; only a child's portion, the smallest piece of fish I ever had at any restaurant for an adult, shame on you. I do recall it says on the menu the fish is between certain weights (I didn't weigh it before I ate it!), but it was not shown as a child's portion. On that note, we found the breakfast excellent.

Be warned about parking charges. I paid for car parking as part of the check in process, this was in August. In November we received a letter from a debt recovery agency for a PCN of £170. This was the first we knew about a parking fine. The hotel does not make it clear car parking is managed by My Parking Space. We received no help from the hotel who told us it was a blip in the computer system. Manager of the hotel did not have the curtesy to respond to email and was never available to speak to us on the phone. Park Maven did not respond to several emails. You cannot speak to anyone. Despite having irrefutable evidence the parking had been paid for it took a very stressful week before My Parking Space acknowledged the error was theirs/ Park Mavens. During that time we received a phone call from the debt recovery agency telling us they were escalating our case and we might find ourselves in court with a CCJ against us if we didn’t pay. I refused to pay. My Parking Space said the error was caused by Park Maven issuing the PCN using a system that is not always upto date. Outrageous, especially when you are told it can take 8 - 12 weeks for the enforcement agency to update their system - but don’t worry!

firstly i had not realised the holiday inn express chain was sub standard to the holiday inn chain- so lesson now learnt.
heater in room is horrendously noisy so wakes you up continuously throughout the night; mattress very uncomfortable; TV didn’t work; breakfast very very basic however edible. staff however fantastic

The 2 reception staff were great, rushed off their feet, but funny and professional all the time.. They really made their guests feel welcome. The breakfast was above the usual Holiday inn Express standard. The room was clean and the bed clean and comfortable. Well done to all staff a very pleasurable stay

Excellent hotel. Rooms are spotlessly clean and modern. Staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help and ensure your stay is enjoyed. They really are a credit to the hotel. Breakfast had everything and more and was regularly replenished. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

Absolutely dreadful - room was grubby, the bathroom smelt and sink took ages to drain, carpet was stained, chair was stained, food was below standard, no ice in the bar!!!. Some staff members exceptionally rude, could barely raise a smile let alone anything else, how they got to work in a customer facing environment god only knows. Will never be staying in a holiday inn express ever again, absolutely abysmal. The sanitary bins in each ladies cubicle within the public area, full and overflowing, UNHYGENIC!!!!, disgusting, and were like that for the 3 days we were there.

Stayed for one night with my 9 year old son. We were warmly welcomed, (reception staff, Claire and Karen were so lovely, friendly and helpful)

The room was nice, shower wasn’t overly powerful but it was ok. My son loved the swivel chair in the room 🤣

The free breakfast was really nice, a lot of choice and fresh food.

The hotel was very clean, great location and value for money. I would recommend.

We arrived early by 12 can’t check in until 230 pm. Went to the restroom lobby , buckets at the entrance for leaky ceiling, dangerous for falling . They advertised in the bathroom they can supply for toothpaste & brush if you forgot to bring one , a misleading advertisement . Requested x3 at the receptionist, they said they don’t have any, I have to buy it from the store which is 2 Miles away from the hotel by walking. On our 3rd day of stay they did not clean the room & did not replace the towels, maybe because we are checking out the following day .

Hotel workers are very nice, from the reception to house keepers.

In general, the hotel was as to be expected. I was in room 320 and there was terrible rattling all night, at intermittent periods, either a generator or when I enquired ‘the pipes’. If you’re not in that room, probably all good! Staff were very good, just not much of a sleep!

Breakfast was a good selection and not too busy. Saturday night we ate in the hotel. Many items on the menu were not available. Wife had lasagne which was burnt to the dish. The amount of food you get for the cost is very poor. Bar had no draught pumps working. Room needed a good deep clean and refresh. Stains on shower tray and on carpet. Cushion was missing out of the swivel chair in the room.

A great hotel with really friendly staff. Rooms were great and had everything you needed. Would happily stay again 😊

Maybe a bit of spray bleach in the shower and some new 🆕 pillows .. and you’d be 100%

Breakfast was fantastic..

The room was clean and the bed comfortable but the aircon didn’t work.
Being situated on a very busy junction I asked for a quiet room. The reception staff said it would be quiet compared to others. Goodness knows what the others were like because this one was very noisy. I barely slept because the room was too hot with the window closed and extremely noisy with the window open.

I work a lot in London but stay at the Holiday Inn Express Dartford and catch the train.l because the staff here are so lovely,

I checked in today and was met by Claire on reception, who was super lovely and super helpful. It was such a refreshing change to be greeted by a lovely smile and friendly face.

She was working alongside her colleague, Susan, who was just as lovely. For me, customer service is everything and Claire and Susan are the epitome of customer service.

The rooms are clean and tidy and are comfortable. The food is good too.

Keep doing what you’re doing Claire, you are smashing it, thank you for being such a great example of what great customer service looks like. ♥️

What made our eight day stay so good was the entire staff ,they were excellent, the front office were exceptional as was the restaurant staff and bar staff .Nothing was too much trouble , they went above and beyond every day. To make our visit memorable. The only criticism was the shower , although modern and large the shower floor was very ,very slippery.

I like the area for its quietness despite being closed to a major roundabout used by truckers going into Europe.
I hate the fact that uber drivers don’t like picking up from there due to traffic. It is not a walking distance to the stores but shopping mall is a few miles away. It has pay parking for quests, AC frequently malfunctions and it is not guaranteed you will have one in your room. Many of their staff are pleasant to talk to especially the Irish ladies!
