The bed was comfortable but the bathroom door had bodily fluid stains on it. There was a long dark hair on one of the pillows.
The stains on the bathroom door.
Probably the nicest hotel in the city. Seemed like most of the countries military leaders and politicians were staying at the hotel.
The hotel is huge and has a corporate feel with many business people and tour groups visiting. This made it feel very busy and a complete change from the boutique style hotel we had previously stayed in whilst staying in the old town of Quito.
The bedrooms felt dated but large, spotlessly clean and everything was in working order.
It was always incredibly busy at breakfast but very well organised with an extensive buffet which was constantly being replenished.
The food portions in the bar area were huge and excellent value for money.
The restaurants were all very good, but the South American was fabulous with outstanding service. If we had been staying longer, we would definitely have eaten there again.
Would happily return as it proved excellent value for money and the speciality restaurants were of a very high standard.
This is one of my favorite JW Marriott properties for business travel — and it consistently delivers at a level that truly reflects the brand.
From the moment you arrive, the experience feels elevated. Guests are greeted by gentlemen in top hats and coat tails, rain or shine. It feels cinematic, refined, and intentional — the kind of welcome that reminds you hospitality can still feel special. The arrival and check-in process is polished and theatrical in the best way — you genuinely feel like a movie star.
The rooms are warm and thoughtfully appointed, with classic touches that many hotels have moved away from. This property hasn’t forgotten the art of comfort. Little details — like bath salts provided for a proper soak — make the stay feel personal and restorative rather than stripped down and transactional.
Room service and on-site dining are both reasonably priced and consistently delicious, which is not always the case at luxury properties. I had an early show the next morning and left before breakfast opened and the staff handed me a boxed breakfast on the way out the door with fresh blackberry juice for the road, incredible. For a business traveler, that convenience matters.
The staff here are exceptional. Every request is handled promptly and professionally, and the staff operate with a level of attentiveness that feels natural rather than forced. You never have to chase assistance; it simply appears.
The executive lounge is lovely and well-managed. One memorable detail: the water closet inside the lounge is stocked with an arrangement of fresh roses — dozens of them — creating the most beautiful fragrance. Throughout the hotel, massive fresh rose topiary displays are featured in public spaces, elevating the entire atmosphere. The floral program alone sets this hotel apart.
This is my go-to hotel in Quito and one I return to confidently for business travel. It embodies what a JW Marriott should be — consistently refined, attentive, and memorable.
This hotel is truly stunning! The architecture itself is worth a visit, and the lobby is filled with spectacular roses. The staff is thoughtful and dedicated to making certain guests are delighted with their stay. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. After our flight, we opted for a light dinner and good wine in the comfortable bar. We would decidedly stay here again.
Staff at front desk not very friendly.
Not great value for money at the dining areas
Thank you to everyone at the JW Marriott! A salute of gratitude to Mr. Fabian for his leadership and hospitality at the Executive Lounge!
We stayed for three non-consecutive nights. The food, staff, accommodations, and amenities are all top-notch! That is what you can expect from a quality JW property.
Most importantly, Fabian is the consummate professional who proactively engages and anticipates guest needs. My wife and I remain grateful for his excellent intuition. This made for an outstanding Quito experience!

As Platinum Elite members, this was our best Bonvoy experience not just in LATAM, but in the entire western hemisphere. This hotel is a fortress of elegance and top-notch service.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a rose and welcome drinks. Our huge room was beautiful and beyond comfortable. The pool is stunning, and the food offerings in the hotel are immense and of great quality.
The lounge was the best we've encountered on this side of the globe. Happy hour was very generous in its offerings, the snacks offered throughout the day were an amazing touch, and the atmosphere of the lounge was relaxing and peaceful with gorgeous views over Quito.
An unfortunate reality is that Quito is not the safest city in the world, and the hotel staff made us feel so prepared and aware of our surroundings. There is not much to do in the direct vicinity of the hotel, but even if there was the neighborhood unfortunately is not one the hotel staff recommended walking around to begin with, but this did not detract from the quality of our stay at all. This was especially not an issue considering how relatively reliable and affordable Uber is in Quito.
We indulged in a 4 hour spa treatment which was very reasonably priced (especially on Wednesdays) and was amazingly executed by our two therapists on December 24 (I unfortunately don't remember their names but they were amazing). However, the spa design is a bit odd (problematic even). We were taken to the gym and pool locker rooms to get undressed, provided robes and slippers, and we were walked upstairs in front of other guests in our robes to the treatment rooms. There was no dedicated spa reception area or sitting area, and the treatment rooms lacked changing areas or showers which logistically made treatments such as body scrubs quite odd.
The service at this hotel was by far the best we've encountered in LATAM. Through and through we had only amazing interactions with every member of staff at the hotel. A special shoutout goes to Carolina at the front desk for her help going above and beyond in arranging an amazing Christmas Eve dinner for us last minute. Additionally, the evening lounge attendant and chef were some of the friendliest and hardest working hotel staff members I've encountered.
Lastly, I would like to share a really special thanks with Fabian. He is the embodiment of professionalism, going above and beyond, and making a guest feel welcomed at all times. If I ever opened a hotel, he would be one of the first people I'd contact - the JW Quito has an amazing asset in Fabian.
I'd honestly return to beautiful Quito just for the chance to stay at this hotel again, yet alone to explore the stunning city and surroundings, and I'd strongly recommend a stay at this hotel the next time your travels bring you to Quito.
Very nice hotel, big, but very friendly staff. We felt well taken care of. Excellent service and great restaurants.
Very clean and good restaurants. Also staff was very pleasant
Well appointed, beautiful hotel. Great facilities including a spa, pool etc. The club lounge is well worth the extra supplement. The staff are so very helpful.
Whilst the location is good there isn’t much to walk to from the hotel.
