Staff was helpful. Breakfast was good and they had a variety the room was clean and smoke free
traveled with pet and stayed in building 2. it had not been updated in years- carpet old and very stained, walls chipped, toilet seat chipped, ice machine not working, just very old and not well maintained. bed linens were very fresh and clean and beds were comfortable.
Dirty and under construction
room was clean and spacious, but needed some repair, nothing major. Staff was great.
staff was friendly. some items showed signs of wear. but at least they were remodeling and apologetic about that.
Very nice the sweet has a Jacuzzi in it very relaxing
Microwave dirty, not cleaned at all.
Staff was friendly, beds were comfortable.
Tiles missing in the entryway, walls in the room needed paint, light over sink was very dim. Carpets were outdated and shabby
Staff that checked me in was fantastic! Personable, relatable and very professional. The front was under construction. I hope the rooms are next. Good bed, but room was old and musty. The room was surface clean, but I dropped a pen and moved a side table. Dust and dirt stacked up. I found a box cutter under the table! The side chair has stains on it. Good place if you just need a break from the road.
This was a great place to stay
We did not mind that it was being renovated so we could handle that mess. What I do not like is that as soon as we got off the elevator on second floor it's not that things were outdated but the carpets were dirty it smelled weird. Upon entering our room we could not even turn on any lights because it turns out they had unplugged them off so we had to use the flashlight for my phone in order to get at least one plugged in so we can then plug in the rest. The room smell the musty and I am attaching pictures of the wallpaper coming off the wall and the condition of the walls around here etc. Under normal circumstances this would be completely unacceptable to me this was made even worse because my lungs are recovering from a severe illness.
When my daughter and my friend went to go to the ice machine there wasn't one it wasn't working because of the renovations so they told us that we were going to have to go to the Days inn in the other parking lot to get ice thankfully the person working decided to go get it for us because it was after 10:00 that was just dangerous for us to do. For the breakfast where it was called we had to go out the front door around the building back into the building thank goodness it wasn't winter. I normally do not complain and I suck it up when things are not up standards but this went beyond that and I was shocked given this chains excellent standards I definitely won't be returning to the one in Effingham and will be more diligent in the future
The bed sheets and cover were dirty and smelled bad, floor was sticky and dirty.
Horrible
You can kind of tell from the musty walls and name brand "Jaccuzi" tub in the bathroom that this Days Inn in Effington was once a nice motel. Now, in 2025, it's an $80 place to get 8 hours of sleep before getting back on the road. Hot Tip: Their system will say it can't charge your credit card for the $100 deposit, even if you have money. This is so they can get you to leave a cash deposit, where their receipt sheet said they have accepted as little as $26 deposit for the night. Make sure to get this cash before you check out else it'll be gone!
It looked like moisture /mold under the wallpaper on the wall around the a/c unit. Very rundown appearance overall. I was too tired to complain after spending 2 hours trying to check in. At least the beds were clean. Phone lines weren’t working to the front desk. I checked in online with Expedia and accidentally booked the wrong day. The front desk attendant said I would need to contact Expedia to have them change the dates. When Expedia tried to reach out to the hotel the phone only rang continuously with no answer. I had the same problem when trying to contact them about their pet policy. So not only did I have to book another room for the correct night, I probably won’t get my money back because Expedia wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone at the hotel. I filed a request to get a refund but again that will only get approved it they are able to get in touch with anyone at the hotel. Lesson learned to pay more attention when booking.
Business owners very courteous, building needs a lot of TLC! Security not good kinda sketchy wasn't comfortable. Just not my normal.
Room very spacious and clean
The property and rooms are outdated and in need of renovations.
Property was run down - everything appeared to be worn. Ceiling in room was cracked and peeling. Prior attempted repairs looked like a 6 year old worked on it.
This hotel should not be on your list. The front desk register had a pitbull dog that got loose and while we were going into lobby to check in. Then when we got to the room the tv did not work. Call the front desk, the man who checked us in came to our room with the pitbull to fix it, but couldn't. So we had no tv. The room was outdated and not as clean as it coild have been. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
