Good spot to rest after a long day of hiking. Nice to get some food before heading out, as well.

Cons:

For $300+ a night after taxes, it was definitely a little dingy. Bathroom did not have a fan. Sort of expected for that neck of the woods. Not a huge deal.

Americinn provided a great home base for the exploration of several State Parks and activities.
Pros:

The breakfast met our expectations. Mini-waffles were fun, variety of egg dishes. Staff was very willing to present more fresh fruit and change out waffle batter. Was also pleased that a roll-away bed was available. The pool was great and used each night. Also really appreciated the refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. Coffee & tea available all day.

Cons:

The motel lists a Hospitality Room. I was expecting to be able to use it for our group of 15 in the evenings for games & snacks. We received special permission to use it one evening for take out pizza, which was great. Otherwise, it seems only to be available for breakfast. This could be an important asset for groups.
Also we booked through a third party. Trying to cancel one room for one night was a two hour phone call. Perhaps that could be made easier.

Great Location
Pros:

Perfect location between Duluth and the other North shore activities we wanted to be near too. Pleasant staff and clean rooms. The only recommendation is that the beds were extremely firm. But that is just a personal preference.

Nothing. It is a scandalous price

Cons:

Everything. $325 a night. Old revamped hotel. Terrible location on main road between a cemetery and a large gas station. House keeping every three days. Ice bucket at reception. A/C did not work. One ice station in whole facility. Terrible breakfast with not tables to eat. Had to stand at shared hightop table. This is corporate extraction of guests at its best.
