the location was good
Needs an update BAD. The paint was chipping, the floor was dirty, the tub was stained. The hair dryer was absolutely filthy. Didn’t trust the breakfast. The worst was the air conditioner. I legit got sick my last day and was wondering where it came from, check the air conditioner and there mold in it and was disgusting. Entire hotel needs to be shut down, and new management needs to step in.
The mattresses were comfortable.
The carpets and floors were sticky. The two rooms we were put in, smelled awful! The night check in staff was very rude.
The rooms were very dirty and the fridge was leaking all over the floor.
Pineville, NC
The breakfast was good
Everything was clean
Wasn't cleaned well. Floors sticky, bedsheets smelled like they weren't washed, toilet had urine stains on the seat and the tub did not look like it was cleaned.
Everything was very nice
We were on the 5th floor and the hallway was very hot
My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The room was dirty, and there was makeup on the pillows. The pillows themselves were tiny and uncomfortable. The floor was so DAMP, and the carpet was so filthy that it honestly needs to be ripped out throughout the entire hotel. Microwave didn't work...
We stayed on the 3rd floor, and the issues were obvious the moment we stepped off the elevator. The elevator was dirty and poorly maintained, and the entire floor had no air circulation at all. It smelled funky, stale, and unclean. When you take a shower, there is zero ventilation, which makes the bathroom humid and uncomfortable. With the lack of airflow, I can only imagine the mold buildup in these rooms... probably just covered with paint instead of actually addressed.
The room also had sheer curtains that you cannot fully close, so if you need blackout curtains to sleep, this is not the place for you. Breakfast was not edible, so don’t waste your time. The pool is extremely small, and overall the entire hotel needs a complete renovation.
The fact that people rate this hotel anything above 1–2 stars I almost believe they are BOTS. The only good thing about this place is the location...and that’s about it.
It’s was located in a great area next to everything you could think of
The rooms could have been in better condition, my family and I had to change rooms because the first room had mildew smell and the carpet was wet and water bugs in the hallway
pool, breakfast, location
Found 2 German roaches in the bathroom on 2 downy different days. The smell of Marijuana from guest rooms and stairwell at all times of day was absolutely horrible. Broken shades on lamps, toilet not secured to the base, stains on bathroom door, dripping tub faucet.
We stayed here a year ago and it was a much better experience. This time will definitely be the last! This place was very sketchy. Multiple “residents” living in the hotel who very questionable. Two of them had house arrest ankle monitors on and were seen standing outside in the smoking area in the bushes clearly not smoking cigarettes. Another couple was also out there multiple times and you had to walk past them and their marijuana cloud and Pitbull to enter the side entrance to the hotel, which many times during our stay was the only plane parking was available. The entire hotel smelled of marijuana. You couldn’t walk through the halls without smelling it. As we walked down the hall to our room we could people within the rooms yelling and cursing. The bathroom had black mold all around the mirror. The wall paneling was peeling off in our room. The breakfast was horrible. We stayed 3 nights/4 days. Two of the mornings the only offerings were dried out biscuits, “scrambled egg Patties, and sausages. Some dry cereal, coffee, milk and juice. There was also make your own waffles which tasted awful. The last morning we didn’t even bother looking. We would definitely not stay here again with our family.
Clean, comfortable room, quick check in, great location
mediocre breakfast, gap in door made it easy to hear noises in hallway
Stopped halfway home to Pennsylvania from Florida. Booked this last minute to break up the trip home. More than pleasantly surprised. Family of 6, plenty of space. The beds were comfortable the pillows were the best we had on our trip. The breakfast was adequate and time/money saving since it was included.
N/A
The bed was comfortable. The A/C worked well.
The refrigerator in the room is old and makes a loud noise at random times almost every hour. It made it difficult to truly get a deep sleep and the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything. The iron is old and needs to be replaced. The bathroom door was installed backwards instead of it opening out it opens in which makes it very uncomfortable. It makes the already small bathroom smaller. The room had a musty smell to it and I think it comes from the old carpet. It’s as though the rooms haven’t been updated since the 80’s. I think if they remodel the rooms, remove the carpet and make them more modern it would come a long way.
Location was good, plenty of shops nearby and Carolina Place Mall was just across the street. If staying in Charlotte for a short time and looking to be near both Ballantyne and Pineville, this works well. Rooms were standard rooms in this category, good size and comfortable.
The corridors and rooms of this hotel have a musty smell to them, not terrible but took away from giving this a better rating because it was noticeable, i changed my room but the other room was similar. The pillowcases and sheets did not smell fresh. These are simple fixes - hopefully the hotel will allocate extra budget to that. There were parts of this hotel that look slightly uncared for, dirt in the corners, etc. I would still stay here at this price point and location though.
I recently stayed at Comfort Inn & Suites Ballantyne/Pineville and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel was spotless, and my room was extremely clean, fresh, and comfortable throughout my stay. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in maintaining the property.
The location is another huge plus — it’s centrally located with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and major roads, making it very convenient whether you’re traveling for business or leisure.
The biggest highlight, however, was Ed, the General Manager. He is absolutely outstanding at what he does. He takes the time to understand guests’ needs, responds quickly to any concerns, and goes out of his way to ensure everyone feels valued and supported. His kindness, professionalism, and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set this hotel apart. It’s clear he genuinely cares about his guests and his staff. Thanks to Ed and the team, this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve had in a long time.
