Very nice rooms, comfortable beds Christmas
good breakfast
We enjoyed the breakfast and especially the pancakes. The best part of the stay was the access to the free coffee anytime of the day or night. We also enjoyed having a pizza delivered right to our room. Also we enjoyed the Keurig coffee pot in our room.
I am not a big fan of elevators. Therefore, if we stay here again, I may prefer a room on the bottom floor. Other than that, we were quite pleased with our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Poughkeepsie.
When staying in hotels, we always ask for a room farthest from the elevator to ensure a mostly quiet room. We were very impressed by the complimentary breakfast and were glad to see staff enjoying breakfast when it was closed to guests.
The elevator was nowhere near the lobby, very odd. There was only one clerk at the 3 o’clock check-in. The line moved slowly. We understand the need for carpet in hallways, but the elevator and the rooms had very nasty carpeting in very much in need of an upgrade. Also the tv was difficult to navigate with no instructions for us seniors.

The bathroom sucked. The shower was terrible. Only 2 shower settings, with the pressure was too much like a fire hose or the spray setting made the whole bathroom wet. The faucet was loose about to fall off.
