enjoyed my stay at this hotel
Pros:

I spent nine nights at the Westin Riverwalk this February and found it to be clean, quiet, and a good value. The hotel is situated on the Riverwalk, and I had a small balcony overlooking the river. It is located away from the noisiest parts of downtown San Antonio, which makes for peaceful nights while still being within easy walking distance of all that downtown SA has to offer. The hotel offers valet parking only, but there are two public parking garages across the street that provide more affordable options.

I will never stay at this hotel again, given the very poor customer service and valet service
Pros:

Location and room was nice

Cons:

Wait times for car valet, overpriced parking, not having my reservation perks like breakfast, staff asking me to do what they should have done, given that my details on the reservation were correct. No apology. Seems like they couldn't be bothered with anything. Customer service was therefore, terrible!

Old Gem, Still Shining
Pros:

This Westin is comfortable and reliable. I have stayed here three times across the last 26 years, and every time has been an enjoyable, relaxing stay. The hotel could certainly use some updates -- I'm not sure much has changed over those years. However, it is a well-run and convenient place.

The location is terrific - right on the Riverwalk and walkable to everywhere downtown. The parking is expensive -- consider using the lots across the street -- but the valets were always available if that is your preference. The lobby remains a relaxing and cozy space, with views out to the river.

The staff was across the board polite and helpful.

Our room was well cleaned. We had a balcony room facing the river and I'm glad we did as that area of the river is quite peaceful. The room furniture is comfortable, but seems old and requires some refreshment. The same goes for the bathroom and the fixtures, closet etc. -- they are all fine, but seem to be the same as the last couple of stays here. Some investment in the property by the owners would be warranted.

Overall, this is a really good choice for downtown San Antonio.

We paid for a Westin hotel experience and got more of a tacky, low class experience. Wont return

Cons:

Pool was NOT heated as advertised, told heater was broken. So freezing that we could not swim, which was HUGELY disappointing. Would not have stayed here had we known that. Also, the pool area had no lights at night - very unsafe. Area quite messy. Also, terrible parking situation. Too expensive and no guarantee of ability to park our car was very unsettling.

Disappointing
Pros:

The valets and bellman were great! Jay M,Chance, Joe, Issal and Rachel(valets).
Besides that, our safe didn’t work, our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, we had no do disturb sign and were only provided one glass. More concerning, when we notified the staff, we were met mostly with apathy.
Overall our stay was disappointing. It was the only negative part of a great weekend at the Briscoe Night of the Artist.

Pros:

While this might not be the most beautiful hotel in San Antonio (the interior design could use some refreshing), the staff there make it absolutely shine. From the welcome at reception by Eileen to the spot-on directions for a nice downtown stroll from Christian to the very warm, pleasant, and wonderfully thorough David R. in lost-and-found (thank you for your help with shipping back the Kindle I left behind in my sad state), this is the friendliest, kindest bunch in the hotel business. Worth staying at for its proximity to the Riverwalk, but also for the employees who are just really nice. And if you have to be away from home, why not spend it with nice people?

Room wasnt ready , unable to get ready or shower for event.
Cons:

I got there to check in at four as required. Once I walked in the hotel, there was a very long line just to check in. Found out as I got closer to agent that they were sold out the night before and are having a hard time getting the rooms cleaned for people to check in.
I waited in line for forty minutes.Just to find out that my room at almost five o'clock was not ready and did not know when it would be. They then said they were gonna take my phone number and text me when my room was ready.
I had an event to go to that evening and had nowhere to get dressed.Take a shower, fix my hair unless I wanted to use the restroom.Which every other person trying to get to their event was trying to do as well.
I met my friend and we went down to the hotel bar to wait for my text.
I never received one, so I went to check at almost seven o'clock and they said, oh yes, your room is ready.But nobody ever called or texted me to let me know.
I only had time to grab my keys on the way to the event.Never was able to get dressed or Take a shower.
I didn't get back to the hotel until 11, almost 12. Just to be able to lay down on the bed.
The next morning, I wanted to order breakfast and they did not leave me a q r code in the room.In order to order anything from room service. They told me they would send housekeeping up with the q.R code which never came.
I had to go downstairs to ask them and then they said it was over an hour to get any food.So I decided to just check out and go get food myself.
I never got to utilize the balcony.Because I never got into my room.
The agent at the counter when I checked in said that the manager was probably going to compensate us.But I have heard nothing yet.

Pros:

The comfort of bed

Cons:

It was outdated no mini refrigerator in the rooms nor microwave. The day of check out the elevators were taking 45 minutes just to get on not to mention the stairs were closed this was ridiculous I paid 60 for valid parking just to wait over 30 minutes for my vehicle.
