Exceptional staff, lovely experience
Pros:

The staff, every single one of them, was absolutely amazing. So welcoming, so kind, so helpful in addressing any requests I made. One day I had a friend from 6th grade visit me and Stephanie noticed a car in the lot with windows down and it was pouring rain. Somehow she figured out which room to come to and let us know. I think this is way above the expectations of what a hotel staff would do. My friend was so appreciative of this, as am I. My room was very nice. The only thing I would have liked better is if there was a breakfast or restaurant on site as I did not have a car on this trip. Their "pantry" however, did have a very large array of grocery type items and snacks for purchase. I have stayed in many hotels/motels over my lifetime and all I can say is I have never had all staff at a hotel offering their kindness and helpfulness that these staff members did. They wanted to help and went out of their way to step forward to show kindness and helpfulness in every way they could. Thank you Candlewood Suites Rockford

Probably the nicest hotel in its class in town

Really clean, and the staff were friendly.

Cons:

The hot water was tepid. To be fair, it was –21°C that night, but I would still have hoped for a properly hot shower.

ADEQUATE FOR ONE OR MULTIPLE NIGHTS
Pros:

The Candlewood Suites in Rockford appears to be an older accommodation as the rooms and decor are a little dated. But it is an adequate accommodation for one or multiple nights. My room was clean; the bed was well made and comfortable. Each room has a Kitchen, stove, Fridge, Sink, with silverware and dishes. This hotel offers free coffee but does NOT served breakfast, but there is a Cracker Barrel and other restaurants nearby. The staff that encountered were friendly and professional. The parking lot was large and well lit. This hotel is located near other chain hotels and if you are feeling lucky, you can try your luck at the Hard Rock Casino located on the other side of Interstate 90. While I didn’t encounter any issues during my stay, a couple of other guests who I spoke with told me that the crime rate in Rockford was on the rise. They advised me to be extra cautious at night especially when traveling to and from the Casino. Again, I had did NOT experience any issues during my stay at the hotel or while visiting the Casino. I did exercise extra caution and was highly aware of my surroundings. The Candlewood Suites met my needs; the rooms were clean and the staff friendly and professional. I would stay here again should I visit the Rockford Area.

Pros:

Overall stay was well. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. New renovations. The only negative side to our stay was that our room smelt like cigarette smoke really bad. Staff were notified about this and were very accommodating.
