The location was great. Very central and close to shops, restaurants, and the Castle.
Beds were very small for two people. Also the room was boiling even when we turned off the heating. The windows did not open (due to safety) and the air-conditioning did not work perhaps because it was during the winter months. We suffered and couldn't sleep all night. The breakfast area and tables were very dirty.

Spa changing rooms are slightly dated and could do with a deep clean - but doesnt effect my overall score of the hotel because I would definitely stay again.

The room temperature was extremely uncomfortable. No air con yet air con on in the hallways throughout the hotel. Unfortunately, we hardly slept as the room was so hot.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Great location and comfortable room, and they kindly allowed us to use the spa for free while we were there and the facilities there were great.
The breakfast was ok not great. There were 4 of us and we came down at different times and had to wait to be checked in. The staff checking in really took their time and would talk to the guests in front and show them around. On our first day despite the member of staff seeing us waiting when she took the guests ahead of us she was clearing up plates and didn't come to take us in. We started walking in and she quickly made her way to us to say we had to be checked in first. Very small thing but annoying at the start of the day!
Well situated near centre of town. Comfy beds and nice rooms. Pleasant staff.

Clean rooms with comfortable beds, good shower, quality towels, nicely equipped with toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities.
The gym was a good size with plenty of equipment and space to stretch etc.
The swimming pool area was well kept.
Breakfast excellent.
Rooms would benefit from coat hooks in the entryway and bathroom would benefit from hooks for hanging towels (2 hooks for four towels is not enough when you’re considering the environment and don’t want housekeeping to change the towels every day).
Also it would be a good addition to the swimming area to have an electric spin dryer for swim costumes - especially as there is a charge to use these facilities.

I couldn’t switch off the air conditioner and it was loud
Room was very cold even with heating up full,,,,,breeze coming through the window frame, I expected more for £317 a night
