Perfect quiet location. Family room was very spacious.
Wunderschöner Frühstücksraum und schönes Zimmer mit Blick ins Grüne
Alles gut gewesen
We really enjoyed our stay at the Gem Strathmore, very classy and British in the heart of Kensington.
Wonderful old townhouse with lots of history. Excellent location next to the Natural History Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. The room was fine for our two night stay, although the bath took a bit of careful negotiating to climb out of. Spotlessly clean room with lots of tea/coffee/milk available. The cream tea had the best scones we have ever tasted. We loved the quirky nature of the hotel having been converted from an elegant townhouse from years gone by. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and attentive. Special mention to Rhyse, Angela and Sangeet. Last point: dont worry if the lift is sluggish, use the stairs and have a workout ! Will definitely stay here again.
Very central for Royal Albert Hall and museums
Nothing
Proximity to tube stations
The bed was so uncomfortable. It was supposed to be a deluxe room and it was in the basement with furniture that looked like it had been taken out of other rooms as they had been refurbished,. I had to request tea bags. Shower screen had black mould on trim.
This is a historical building. Means it just doesn't have modern touches you come to expect at a regular hotel. Air-conditioning for one. Of course, not important in wintry London. The heater next to the window was adequate if you needed warmth.
The lift was out of order on our check-out day. Fortunately, we were only the second floor. Only had to crash our luggage down four flights of stairs. You'll also find quite a few doors to push through on every level - all necessary fire doors. Probably another consequence of the old building.
Few things appreciated: heaps of tea, coffee, milk packets (even soy milk) with the kettle; bathroom amenities.
Also, it's in a good location. Close to Gloucester Rd tube (Piccadilly Line straight from Heathrow). Steps away from Museum of Natural History; few more steps down the road to Harrods.
It's a small room - typical European standard.
Finally, the Chromecast with the TV was not working.
Excellent location, near Glocester Road station, easy walk to South Ken, museums, Royal Albert Hall.
We had a family room, plenty room and closet space. It was a bit dated but comfortable, clean and quiet. Cannot really fault it.
We would return for another stay.
Nice atmosphere and courteous staff. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Good location with excellent local restaurants. Convenient for museums in Kensington.
All good.
