What a beautiful hotel in the heart of Edinburgh
Pros:

We absolutely loved our few nights here. Staff were so friendly and helpful in the reception area and The Garden. We loved our room in the attic - it was clean, comfortable and catered for all our needs. Great value for money. For me having the pool was a big plus - there again the Spa area and changing rooms were clean and well kept. Loved the seaweed shower accessories and the Dyson hairdryer was great. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we definitely recommend to family and friends. 5*

Warm hospitality in Edinburgh
Pros:

It was unexpectedly comfortable and pleasant staying in the hotel - Location was perfect to walk up to Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Overall atmosphere was cozy and lofty, and staff was genuinely kind and caring. I borrowed Strathberry bag and that one really made my OOTD on that day! Also they kindly offered a list of amenity rental and it was incredibly useful.

I particularly appreciate helping from Mea at the BABA bar, Mighel and Fraya at the Concierge (apologies in advance for the incorrect spelling if they are). I truly enjoyed conversing with them and that became a part of memorable and pleasant moments in Edinburgh :)

Hund und Mensch glücklich!
Pros:

Fantastic stay
Pros:

Excellent hotel, location & staff.
The hotel is stylish with a decent spa, we would all definitely recommend getting a treatment.
Umbrellas and bikes to use, fantastic breakfast and if you forget something there is a list in your room of amenities the hotel can provide.
The staff are all chatty & very helpful and we would definitely be back.

Would not recommend to a friend considering the price you need to pay
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Cons:

The gym is fairly well-equipped but poorly maintained. I went two days in a row and noticed the same paper cup left on one of the bikes from the day before. Both clocks on the wall were stuck at 7:30, clearly with dead batteries that no one had replaced. Small details like these say a lot about the overall upkeep. The gym also uses outdated five-litre water dispensers instead of proper fountains, which feels quite out of place in what’s supposed to be a luxury setting.
To access the gym or the spa, you need to write your full name on a paper sheet to confirm you’re a guest. It’s an awkward and outdated process, and not exactly GDPR compliant since other guests’ names are visible on the same page. The spa itself is underwhelming, with just one pool that easily gets crowded, making it very difficult to relax. You also have to walk through the restaurant to reach the spa or gym, which is inconvenient and poorly designed.
The lighting in both areas is far too dim, especially in the gym where it’s difficult to even read the weights. In the rooms, the TV only offers basic channels, with no Netflix or streaming services available, which feels outdated. The soundproofing is another big issue, we barely slept due to the constant wind noise, something that should never happen in a five-star property.

Not a 5-star hotel. But it was a pleasant trip.
Pros:

Location was good

Cons:

The food isn’t good enough for a 5 star hotel. And despite messaging days in advance to have two rooms next to each other as we had our kids they struggled to accommodate. Not 5-star experience, a solid 4-star.

It was ok - we are Kimpton fans. It was a bit sloppy!
Pros:

Staff were good and attended to ‘some’ issues

Cons:

The TV could have worked - despite the engineer trying to fix it!
Resent paying a fixed breakfast charge of £30pp - when all we wanted was a coffee and croissant ….!!
Bedroom heat required maintenance man to change filter
Room service left ‘tissue box’ empty - a bit annoying late at night
