La Quinta by Wyndham New York City Central Park

The property was barely habitable. Filthy stained carpets,months to years of dead bugs in the light fixtures, missing tiles, stained drywall. Among much more.

Elevator with long wait time, dirty smelly rugs, staff didn’t service room despite being requested, one very rude employee, bad breakfast.

It’s in a good and safe location

The room, bathroom, and hotel facilities were all dirty. Except for the linen, the room and bathroom were disgusting. They never cleaned anything during the 7 days I stayed at the hotel. If I had known, I would have chosen another hotel. The room was very uncomfortable for the price we paid. Although hotel rooms in NYC are notoriously small, this one fell short of my expectations.

8. Premature Departure – A limit was reached when we discovered an ant infestation, in our bed, on the morning of September 11th. It was substantial as to the number of ants crawling all over the bed. At this point, we decided that it was time to leave. We checked out at about midmorning.
When we disclosed the reason, the person at Reception at the time, could not have expressed less concern. There was no apology nor an offer of remedial action. Please note that I have photos of the ants on the bed.

In summary, La Quinta at Central Park has been the worst, throughout the years of my New York City experience. I consider the central reason to be that management is not even looking. Make no mistake, staff in areas such as Housekeeping and the departments, other than reception, do their job and conduct themselves excellently. Dealing with them was a pleasure.
However, regarding the area of Reception, it is my impression that supervision is totally lacking and there is no training evident, regarding demeanor and the disposition that should be conveyed to guests in every interaction. When dealing with a brand name hotel, with guests from out-of-town or country, it is not the place to manifest a demeanor or conduct, that is no different from colloquial circumstances. As a guest, I expect a welcoming and courteous orientation to be standard; and management has evidently failed to train and establish minimally acceptable standards.
Of course, payment was collected in full at the time of check-in. While I believe that some kind of reimbursement would be fair, it would be a pleasant surprise is such an action were to occur. I have additional details of the stay, should there be an interest.

Un poco caro para el estado en el que está el hotel. La habitación era DEMASIADO pequeña, no era como aparentaba en las fotos. Un “armario” que medía unos 20 cms como mucho en el que se suponía que tres personas teníamos que colgar la ropa… El mayor problema es que las ventanas no se quedaban abiertas así que en ningún momento pudimos tener las ventanas abiertas o ventilar la habitación, y con la mezcla de olores y la humedad del baño era difícil de soportar… En cuanto al desayuno, poca variedad y cada día lo mismo… Aún que yo creo que el inconveniente “mas grande” es el ascensor, un solo ascensor para 14 plantas, puedes llegar a esperar unos 10-15 min en hora punta….

THE ROOM WAS CRAMPED. THE PHONE DIDN'T WORK. THE BATHROOM SHOWER WAS MOLDY AND CREVICES NOT CLEAN AT ALL. NO MICROWAVE TO HEAT UP ANYTHING. HALLWAY CARPET VERY DIRTY AND DISGUSTING. I FELT WE WERE IN A LAST MINUTE ROOM. THE HOTEL WASN'T A COMFORTABLE STAY.

El servicio de limpieza se realiza únicamente por solicitud, algo que personalmente nos pareció bien. Durante nuestra estadía lo solicitamos en tres ocasiones. La primera vez hicieron el aseo de la habitación sin ningún problema. En otra ocasión pedimos principalmente cambio de algunas toallas y esa solicitud no se realizó. La tercera vez volvimos a pedir el servicio y nuevamente hicieron correctamente la limpieza. Probablemente fue simplemente un tema de comunicación con el personal y no representó un inconveniente importante para nosotros.

Si tuviéramos que señalar algún aspecto por mejorar, sería únicamente ese pequeño detalle con una de las solicitudes de limpieza. Por lo demás, nuestra experiencia fue muy buena. Nos pareció una excelente opción por su ubicación, comodidad y por lo bien que funciona como base para conocer Nueva York. Tuvimos una muy buena estadía y volveríamos a considerarlo.

I had a horrible experience with the bathroom where in we had the Black water coming from Taps. This hotel does not provide drinking water bottles in room & ask us top drink the Tap water. I got severely affected by Bacterial infection after drinking this water. I have all the relevant digital proofs in form of Short Videos of the Black water coming out of taps. When I asked the Front desk ,they were not of much help. They only offered me to refund the resort fee. I want to seriously request Booking.com teams to get me properly compensated ,as I am still sick from Bacterial infection after drinking the water from this Hotel
