The Bidwell Marriott Portland

Stayed for one night on 3/11/2026 and the reviews did not lie. Josh at valet to the check in process was perfect. In fact, every staff member was perfect. The hotel is quiet, comfortable and clean. This is the only hotel I will stay at when visiting Portland.

Classy, courteous, and consistent 10/10 service. Everyone remembered my name throughout the stay and greeted me with enthusiasm. The hotel’s general manager was in the lobby, welcomed me by name, acknowledged and expressed appreciation for my loyalty. Special call out to Josh and the entire valet team. Top shelf service!!

I really enjoyed my short stay at the Bidwell. Despite it only being two nights it was incredibly memorable due to the various encounters with staff that left me feeling informed and supported. Levi and Derrick at the front desk were phenomenal, with their responsiveness to checking in and any questions I had asked. Also, my experience at the bar was amazing as well as Margaret was quick to check in to my needs as a patron and got me my orders quickly! The team at the Bidwell are very accommodating even for short little staycations. :)

The team is very good here, especially Josh S. He asked my name on night 1 and remembered for the next 3 days. The restaurant had a yummy lobster roll with brown butter. They live up to the Marriott standards. I would definitely stay again!

Our 2 queen bed room was very spacious and the bathroom was huge. The sliding door with no lock on the bathroom was kinda weird so be aware.
Everything was clean. The on-site restaurant had good food, good drinks and good hours for us. Sometomes it's s nice to finish the night inside the building. I didn't pay for a view and definitely didn't get one. Not a concern though.

Generally a good location. A few restaurants and bars near by. Good coffee and breakfast close by too.

Not sure what valet parking costs. We parked around the corner at Alder Street Garage/ Star Park facility within the same square block as the Bidwell. $30/day. Literally walk out the front door, make 2 rights and the parking garage elevators are tucked in near the furniture store.

If you're going to Moda or the Convention Center, save yourself the headache and just Uber/Lyft from the hotel. Parking over there sucks. You could walk there (daylight) but I'd probably catch a ride back (not daylight).

I'd definitely stay there again if I wanted to stay in that area. The staff was awesome.

Showed up late at night and was greeted warmly by Nonnie and Jami. Nonnie was professional and caring with our check in process. We eventually got into some discussions about art and she reccomended me to visit a cartoon museum, while also gifting me with her art! Jami was so sweet and caring with the check-in process and getting the valet set up was a breeze.

The Josh (es? There are two Josh's that work in Valet) are both equally funny, knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Josh S recognized every guest that walked in front of him while Josh T showed true pride in his position, going above and beyond to get an item I left in my vehicle and bringing it to my room.

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The food and drinks in the High Horse was delicious with lots of flavor. All of the staff show that they care for this hotel, and I will be reccomending all of my friends come and check it out when in Portland!

The Bidwell was a wonderful stay and felt like home. The gym is one of the nicest in any hotel. And far away, Josh S. Is top notch customer service personified. He goes above and beyond and even got me in for dinner across the street for amazing sushi. Tom at the front desk was friendly and engaging and make check in a breeze!

Let me start by saying I travel for work, so I’m in Portland a lot and have stayed at many nice hotels in the city. The first time I stayed here last fall I told the man at reception that I’m always on the lookout for my new favorite hotel… Derek smiled and said “challenge accepted!” and his genuine hospitality (plus the beautiful room and exceptionally comfortable bed) had me come back again on my next visit! I think this has been my 5th stay so far…

The rooms are beautiful, very comfortable, and the beds are exceptional… plus they use fitted sheets on their beds, people!! (The little things truly do make a difference.) But it’s the people here that bring me back! The service is top notch yes, but everyone here is so genuinely nice and wanting to help that you always feel special. You’ll meet Josh out front when you arrive, or in the M Club helping out with service, with a huge smile and tons of helpful information! Honestly everyone working valet is great - Thom, Cameron, and Brown are all extremely helpful!

The food at the hotel restaurant is very good and Kelsey is excellent at crafting cocktails and helping you decide on dinner when you’re too tired to think (try their non-alcoholic pineapple & pistachio mojitos - add rum - it’ll be your new favorite!)

And if you have access to the M Club, it’s one of the best hotel breakfast buffets I’ve ever had - ask about the “secret menu” and definitely try the potatoes (you’re welcome)! But again, it’s mainly the people. Yennifer and Juan Carlos are both super sweet, super helpful, and will definitely start your day off with a smile… The first time I went to the club for breakfast I didn’t realize I had missed their early breakfast cutoff (9am - my only complaint) and Juan Carlos had already loaded everything up to bring back to the kitchen. When he saw my disappointment he unpacked everything for me, without me asking, and just smiled and said take your time. Seriously sweet!

All to say, it’s a great hotel, with great staff who truly care about your experience, so enjoy your stay… I’ll be back soon!

The location was great. I liked being able to get out for a nice urban walk with plenty of interesting places to see. There are also lots of great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, food trucks and even a beer garden just a few blocks away. The room was clean and well appointed, and the amenities were good for a property in its category. The gym was properly equipped and the M lounge was cozy and the breakfast was well done. It also has a great bar and restaurant on the 2nd floor. Now for the most important part, the staff was courteous, helpful and gave off great vibes, with a particular shout out to our friendly valet Josh S. This was our second visit in about a year and we would definitely go back.

This was such a fantastic group of people to host an event with. Their food and Bev coordinator during our event was so on it and flexible. Him and David and team were on top of making our event such a success. But the little things just added up to so much here - the kindest people you will ever meet greeted everyone and Josh S (valet) in particular made it feel like you were so welcome and safe here— he also ensured safety for all of our guests and was the friendliest face to have welcome you in.

Thank you so much to this entire team. This is one of those hotels you can just trust to crush it. We will host many more events here!

Friends & I stopped by the restaurant at the Bidwell and had an amazing experience. Anna, our server was knowledgeable about the menu, super friendly & funny. I had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked. Jake also introduced us to an informative tasting of local beer & wine that greatly enhanced our trip to Portland! We will definitely be back to enjoy the Bidwell personable staff, hospitality & location! Thank you!

Everyone was great and made a point of acknowledging me. Josh S. remembers everyone’s name which is amazing to be treated by name when you come down in the morning and come back 8 hours later. The gym is really well appointed for such a small hotel. Many good restaurants around and walkable. I highly recommend.

What a location and what an atmosphere! This place is great! The incredible team who took care of my wife and I as we celebrated our wedding. The culinary and banquet team provided an outstanding dinner and welcomed us like family! The room was spectacular and the front desk team welcomed us for our evening and breakfast the next day in the High Horse lounge. I don't know where to begin with the thanks from Jacob the GM, to Josh, Desiree, Ellie, Kendall, Vienna, and the bartender in High Horse who helped get us connected with the catering team when we visited (and took care of us for the breakfast the day after the dinner).

I travel frequently to Portland for business and I always stay at the Bidwell. The staff is always cheerful and attentive. The lounge has amazing breakfast, and Yenifer and Juan Carlos are always there to elevate your experience with a bright smile. Really appreciate the service!

Stayed here for work Jan 11-15. Had a great experience. Tom, Derek and Tamara were such welcoming greeters.
Had nice conversations with them about places to eat nearby. The welcome beverage is a nice touch.

Gym is great esp for a hotel and the restaurant inside the hotel was good too. Great staff all around.

Rooms are super clean and worked for me.

Will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

I travel to Portland monthly for business and always choose The Bidwell because it consistently delivers an exceptional experience. The rooms are comfortable and well‑appointed, but what truly sets this hotel apart is the outstanding service from the entire staff. I always feel genuinely welcomed from the moment I arrive.

One of the highlights of my stay is the M‑Lounge. I often stop in for the complimentary breakfast, coffee, and snacks, and it has become my go‑to spot for meeting colleagues or taking calls. The team that manages the lounge, Yenifer and Juan Carlos, is simply fantastic. Their warm, friendly, and attentive approach makes every visit enjoyable and helps create a sense of comfort when traveling for work.

The Bidwell has become my home base in Portland, and I look forward to each stay. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.

My wife and I had a great three-night stay at The Bidwell Marriott. The location is ideal in downtown Portland close to a lot of eateries and shopping and in walkable distance to most attractions. It's also only a 20-30m drive from Portland's airport. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Our corner king room on the top floor (20th) was very clean and quiet, it had a beautiful view over the city and the river, nicely curated decoration and a comfy seating corner. It would have been nice to have more storage, a bathtub and more substantial bedding (we may have been able to request the latter -- not enough of an annoyance for us to try), but overall, we really liked our room and thought it was a good value for the price. We had breakfast in the lounge all three mornings and it had a smaller but good selection. The staff in particular was very nice, attentive and happy to accommodate requests.
