The Bidwell Marriott Portland

Everyone was really helpful, welcoming and pleasant from Josh S. greeting us from the time we got out the car to valet, to everyone at the front desk for check in and the entire crew working in the restaurant.

Steve, the cook in back, took care of us and handmade items that weren't readily available. Steve went above and beyond to make sure we got well a well prepared hot meal. Thank God for employees like Steve! Thank you Steve!

Nice rooms with great views of the city. Bed was comfortable and TV lets you choose additional inputs so you can plug in your own device.

It was great to be back in Portland after a few years and as always we stayed at our favorite hotel. The staff is nice as always and the rooms are still in great shape many years after the remodel. You can tell they take great care of this place. Some suggestions: the music used to be fantastic! Now they seem to share the same playlist as a Walgreens! Bring back the old playlist please. It really created a cool vibe before they changed it. Maybe they felt they had to cater to a more conservative crowd but I don’t think that’s the move. My other suggestion is to replace the awful AI bear made of crushed cars artwork in the rooms. It looks so lame for such a beautiful property. I don’t know if they still strive for these trip advisor reviews but since they used to I felt I should share my thoughts. My girlfriend and I still love this city and this hotel and we hope they listen to our suggestions.

The staff in the Mclub was outstanding. Juan Carlos and Joe were prompt with help and always there greeting and helping with service.

As a flight crew we like to come down and relax. We have been here all month and Shaynna and Margaret have been sooooo accommodating. We walk in and they remembered our names and poured our drinks. Being in the service industry, this is impressive. Thank you for a great month. We can’t wait to come back here…

The hotel was wonderful. Josh S. provided excellent service to my coworkers. Levi was an absolute lifesaver—he kindly assisted me with charging my phone after I forgot my cord!

Additionally, Aly in sales, along with Eden and Julie, did a fantastic job and made our event a huge success.

The Bidwell is always great. The location and staff are wonderful, including JOSH being very helpful at the valet.

The location of the hotel was perfect for all the places we wanted to visit on our week long trip. We were greeted multiple times by Josh S. who remembered us and called us by name every time. He made some great recommendations for restaurants close by which included the High Horse Restaurant in the hotel. The food and service there was amazing. I would definitely recommend The Bidwell for location, atmosphere and hospitality. And hopefully you will see Josh S. there.

The staff at the hotel were amazing. Especially Josh S. at the valet. So friendly, remembered my name, and was extremely helpful with my car. The rooms are very nice and clean. Great fitness center for a hotel. Would definitely recommend!

Valet service is usually a blur—hand over your keys, get a quick nod, and that’s it. Josh S. is different. He actually took the time to learn our names, greeted us like we mattered, and even offered some genuinely helpful advice that made our visit better. It’s those small, personal touches that turn a routine transaction into a memorable experience. More people in this industry should take a page from Josh’s book—be like Josh S.

I visit The High Horse whenever I’m at the Bidwell Marriott. Service is outstanding, with great drinks, and a rotating menu that always offers something fresh and delicious. The bartenders consistently go above and beyond, whether they’re crafting the perfect cocktail, offering great recommendations, or creating a welcoming atmosphere. A special shout-out to Steve in the kitchen for going out of his way to deliver a great dish. With exceptional hospitality and a menu that never gets boring, High Horse is absolutely worth a visit.
