The staff at the hotel were amazing. Especially Josh S. at the valet. So friendly, remembered my name, and was extremely helpful with my car. The rooms are very nice and clean. Great fitness center for a hotel. Would definitely recommend!

Valet service is usually a blur—hand over your keys, get a quick nod, and that’s it. Josh S. is different. He actually took the time to learn our names, greeted us like we mattered, and even offered some genuinely helpful advice that made our visit better. It’s those small, personal touches that turn a routine transaction into a memorable experience. More people in this industry should take a page from Josh’s book—be like Josh S.

I visit The High Horse whenever I’m at the Bidwell Marriott. Service is outstanding, with great drinks, and a rotating menu that always offers something fresh and delicious. The bartenders consistently go above and beyond, whether they’re crafting the perfect cocktail, offering great recommendations, or creating a welcoming atmosphere. A special shout-out to Steve in the kitchen for going out of his way to deliver a great dish. With exceptional hospitality and a menu that never gets boring, High Horse is absolutely worth a visit.

Service was beyond awesome ! The barmaids were cute, friendly, bubbly and had great suggestions; food and drink.
The chef, Steve Cook, went above and beyond. The food was delicious and he took the time to come out and let us know personally that something wasn’t available. I will be back.

If you are tired of rushed service and watered-down drinks, this is the bartender you’ve been looking for.
What really stands out is Margaret’s incredible attention to detail. Instead of just slapping ingredients together to clear the bar rail, she takes the time to measure precisely, balance flavors beautifully, and ensure every single glass that leaves their station is absolutely flawless.
She is incredibly thoughtful, focused, and deeply invested in making sure you get exactly what you want. It is rare to see a bartender show this much genuine care and respect for the craft. We will be back!

Josh with the valet was the best! So friendly and helpful with tips for exploring the city and directions. Also, was super nice to our 4 year old and even remembered his name to say bye the next morning!

I can't rave enough about this hotel. I am picky if you read my other reviews, but this is a stand out for any hotel in any city. This hotel has the best front desk operation in the business. Levi at the front desk exemplifies this - super efficient, responsive over the hotel app/texts and when you call in. Follows through, calls you back to makes sure things, even special requests are handled.

The rooms are solid with great bedding and great views.

They do beer/wine tastings in the lobby late afternoons. The M-lounge breakfasts are great too.

My only suggestion would be that they put signs where the removed ice machines are to let you know what floors have them. The good news is they all work - which is another indicator of a well run hotel.

Oh - I can't forget about Margaret at their restaurant/bar (High Horse). She makes drinks with chemist level accuracy. If you want your drink half sweet as usual, tell her 0.5 sweet and she will recalibrate with lab grade precision.

Josh the doorman was amazing! He is such a nice guy and a people person. My kid looked forward to seeing him everyday. He was always happy and treated every guest like they were family.

We recently stayed at The Bidwell for 4 days when we were suddenly called to Portland for the death of my father. The staff at the Bidwell was exemplary! They took care of us as if they were our family. From the front desk staff to the bar staff to the breakfast staff and especially the valet staff, always pleasant, always helpful, and great at their jobs. I want to thank them for making what was a terrible reason to visit a bit brighter.

Comfortable in a great location! The rooms are clean and comfortable. I really liked the water bottle fillers on every floor. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here.

Front Desk and hotel staff were terrific. Josh and the Valet team were one of the best I have experienced. Gym could be a little larger but overall great property

Josh (#2) at the counter and Josh S (#1) at valet were very helpful and friendly when we checked in. Josh S was even there in the morning at breakfast checking in on us… he even had our car ready at the curb before we even asked. Great place to stay! Thanks Josh and Josh

Honestly, I’ve never left a review before, but I felt like I needed to share the love.

After multiple connections, multiple states, and an incredibly long day of travel, I arrived and took a quick 10-minute Uber ride from the airport, where I was greeted by Levi and Charlee.

Their professionalism was outstanding, but what really stood out was their genuine care during check-in. After just a brief conversation, they completely turned my trip around.

The room is exceptionally clean, beautifully designed, and filled with modern artwork. I truly feel at home here.

One major bonus is the on-site market. Unlike most hotel markets that are stocked with ramen and potato chips, they offer a fantastic selection of high-end local products, snacks, and alcoholic beverages.
