Nice location, in centre of town, very near beach, but quiet too. Friendly and good value. Nearby is Joe's Cafe for excellent coffee and hot and cold snacks freshly made. On main street nearby there is great place to get laundry done, very good quality and price. Top Star I think it is called. Also very friendly and nice tea shop next to it. Also check out Sabhra restaurant across from temple near Krishna Butter Ball for great N. Indian food at very good prices. Great town and beach, but be careful of rip tide in sea.

Our favorite in Mammalapuram!!
We have been there several times, over the years. It´s our favorit in Mammalapuram. It is not in the main road, but nearby everything you like, including the beautiful sea and the fisher boats. We arrive normally wit the motorbike which is easy to park safty.The owner is very kind at any time, and if you need something, just ask him.

Très bonne réception et personnel très aidant. Chambre confortable et propre. Hôtel très bien situé, à deux pas de la mer et cinq minutes des vestiges du 6 et 7e siècles.

Hotel is exactly as shown in pictures. I got this at 800rupees for non ac room. Room was very neat and clean. The matrices was not that cozy but it's comfortable to have good sleep. Even though it was a non AC room the sealing fan was enough in the room. Infact sometimes i kept the fan off. There was no hot water in the bathroom but i didn't asked for it as I didn't required. But I guess they have the hot water arrangements for bathroom. There are table and chair arrangements out side every room just to seatvand have some food-drink, or work. Net swings (Hammock) are there outside almost every room so you can just relax and enjoy the winds coming from the sea. Beach is just 2 minutes away from the hotel (approximately 300meters away). There is a restaurant which serves very good food with reasonable rates. I observed there were only 3 employees at the hotel all are very polite and helpful. Staff is not trained for all basic activities like welcoming the guests, check-in process etc. They didn't even asked me for my id proof, when i asked about it they just took a picture of my driving licence that's it no any other paper work or records.
As there were only 3 employees you always have to search them if you want anything and there was no phone in the room. In the night i think they go back to their home or in some special staff room as i didn't found anyone from staff after 10:30-11 PM. That could be difficult and problematic if you are arriving late night.
