Excellent accommodation, enthusiastic support, nice pool and good breakfast. Deserted surroundings so we can have party til late night without bothering the neighbors
We love this quiet area next to Son Tra mountain. The place was super clean, new and comfortable. We really felt like at home with this hospitality and friendliness. We even cooked a nice dinner after the staff recommended us where to buy some fresh seafood. The view from the rooftop pool is absolutely incredible. And behind this place is a Dutch inspired cafe/ farm ( walking distance) with sheep, rabbits, and guinea pigs. It was the sweetest thing ever. The host made the entire experience special and welcoming. Thanks for everything!!!
We'll definitely come back, it was perfect.
We were a group of 9 golfers from Australia who stayed in the villa for 10 days. The fact we had the entire premises was a bonus, otherwise it would be a single building with 7 + semi-self contained rooms and a common lounge and outdoor kitchen and courtyard downstairs, shared with others...potentially more of a hotel style
As such, it was like staying in our own house, albeit with separate rooms and facilities, with a lounge downstairs.
All rooms were clean and bedding was good.
Hoa, our chef/fix it man was outstanding. Lovely guy who spoke english ok/well, was a great asset, and was back at the villa in a flash if we needed him. Without him, things may not have run as smoothly. The price was reasonable.
It had a beaut courtyard, and the whole villa and courtyard was enclosed by a 3 metre wall with big double gates, so security was never an issue
A distinct musty mouldy smell when we first arrived in some of the bedrooms. It disappeared after leaving the doors and windows open for a day. Have suggested to the owner to do this before guests arrive.
The villa is a little removed from the main stream hustle and bustle. If you don't have your own transport (car, scooter) you must register with and use one of the "Uber" style companies to enable you to go to and from activities.
Saying that, they are usually at the door in a matter of minutes...no exaggeration, and from the villa to the night markets in the centre of Da Nang usually costs about AUD$9.00 with tip.
There was no cable TV as advertised, which was a small inconvenience, although Netflix was available....sometimes after rebooting the app.
The room safes were flimsy and weren't fixed down, so were pretty useless, and there was no 24 hour manned front desk as advertised, but that was probably a good thing for us.
The location of this property is ideal as I can get to the city center quickly with motorcycles rented from the property, which were well-maintained, while being close to Sơn Trà peninsula and overlooking the bay. The rooms were well-serviced and cozy, quite frankly felt at home. On top of which, the host was very welcoming and helpful with city touring tips.
The breakfast was a little different to our normal western breakfasts but was enjoyed by all of us who stayed at Fish Village. It was interesting to see what Hoa cooked each morning.
The location is a little out of the way if you don't have transport. Great water views from the rooftop pool. It is also in a area that is being developed but this didn't cause any issues. For those who are comfortable and able to, I suggest hiring motorbikes, for those who aren't the local Grab taxi services seemed to turn up within a few minutes so we never felt like we couldn't do anything. From memory a Grab trip to the CBD or the beachside restaurants and cafes was around 120,000VND.
The local mini market was about a kilometre walk. These is a couple of local restaurants within walking distance and a new coffee shop opened during our stay.
Hoa, the host was very helpful.
The location being a little further from the action than first expected (but this was easily sorted with transport).
The Villa is over 4 levels so the steps to the pool required a bit of effort but we got used to them.
It was the first time I saw a receptionist who spoke very loudly and did not listen to anyone's words. I paid for a 5-star hotel, but there is no room service, there are spiders in the bathroom, and I wake up with dripping from my head when I sleep. Went with very high expectations but it was a very bad place. Sorry Hoa
