I love this hotel. Stay here every time in Memphis. It just needs a good deep clean. I’ll be back regardless - but.
⭐️ Unacceptable Front Desk Conduct – Avoid This Hotel
We arrived at this hotel around midnight with a valid reservation through Booking.com. My husband initially attempted to check us in but was told he could not because the reservation was under my name. I then went to the desk myself and provided multiple valid forms of identification (passport, driver’s license, and credit card).
Despite this, the front desk agent refused to check us in because my Booking.com account was under my maiden name, while my legal documents reflect my married name. Her demeanor was rude and dismissive from the start.
At her direction, we contacted Booking.com. Booking.com updated the name on the reservation, yet the receptionist still refused to honor it, claiming she did not have access to the hotel’s email system until the morning to verify the change. She also refused to speak directly with Booking.com, even while they were actively attempting to contact the hotel.
We were left sitting in the lobby for over an hour and 20 minutes after midnight, being told there was “nothing she could do.” When I requested a manager, I was told no one was available and that she was the only staff member on duty.
Because of her refusal to accept valid identification and an updated reservation, we were forced to leave and book another hotel, where we were checked in immediately without issue.
Approximately 20 minutes after we left, the same receptionist called to say she had spoken with her manager and that we could now check in — far too late.
To make matters worse, we attempted for over 2½ weeks to contact the hotel’s general manager. We were repeatedly told they were unavailable and would call us back. They never did.
I have used Booking.com for over 10 years, often with my maiden name while my legal documents reflect my married name. This has never been an issue at any other hotel.
This was a complete failure in customer service, basic problem-solving, and professionalism.
A truly awful experience, the conditioner bottle is empty, the room is so so tiny, but I paid over $250, not worth it.
Great, hardworking staff. Interesting hotel concept. Rooms are nice and clean. It was also very quiet. Front desk employees were incredibly helpful. We were given a dinner discount because it was our anniversary. When you did actually get food there, the included hot breakfast is amazing. Esp the shrimp and grits.
SEVERELY understaffed. One young lady working the only food outlet in the building (there is NO on site dining as promised aside from the lobby bar). Ordered food, never arrived. We simply gave up. She was overwhelmed with guests but kept on smiling.the next morning was the same story. One woman working the free breakfast (again, at the lobby bar), and she was buried with orders but still got everyone served efficiently.
The fact it's was good access to the train and all I had to do was come out of hotel and line up for the train and the rate for a night stay was excellent nothing everything was perfect
Loved the hotel.
Clean, comfortable room.
Big shower with lovely towels.
Poor communication prior to arrival. Twice I sent messages which weren't answered.
Information received from the hotel prior to arrival is out of date. It states face covering is required in the hotel and that is not the case.
I like to have boiled water in the morning when I get up and no way of having that in the room.
All great
All great
Location, view, history and Asia at the front desk was awesome!!
Lady at the bar and security guard that worked at night. Both treated us like we weren't welcome. Everyone and everything else was amazing.
Superb location- all the best Memphis spots are within walking distance. The check in staff, security, and cleaning team were all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and the bed was super comfy. Seriously no complaints from us. 10/10 experience. We’ll be back!

The location was perfect to catch the Amtrak. And close to a lot of other historical sites. When I checked in both of the girls (didn't get their names )at the desk were absolutely great. I had a King Concourse room this room had the most amazing views. My jaw just dropped. The hotel is just very charming. If I ever stay in Memphis again, will definitely stay here.
Location. The hotel bar was excellent.
Location was walkable to restaurants and downtown. On site parking lot with plenty of spaces.
