Prachtige plek, fijne kamer (tuin suite) met uitzicht op kasteel en zwembad. Rustige sfeer.

Cons:

Bij het ontbijt was het soms wat chaotisch. Lege schalen en bediening niet altijd vlot. Koffie moet besteld en duurt net te lang. Voor een hotel van dit niveau kan dat beter. Kwaliteit ontbijt verder wel uitstekend.

Best hotel for miles around
Pros:

Everything from the welcome by the receptionist to the fact that we were upgraded to a suite including a bottle of Prosecco as we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary! All of the staff were totally on it. An amazing fine dining room in a cavern hewed out of the rock in 2020 and accessed only by a vast oak door with a foot long iron key!! A very tranquil and cool vibe throughout the hotel. Would certainly recommend this to anyone travelling this way. The old town centre also a vibrant place with many restaurants to choose from and some pretty upmarket clothes shops too. Bolzano is understated to say the least.

Pros:

Sehr sehr schönes Hotel . Sehr zu empfehlen. Einzig zu kritisieren ist, dass das Frühstück bis 10.30 Uhr angesetzt war, es um 09.00 Uhr jedoch kein Vollkornbrot mehr gab. Und das Brot auch nicht nachgefüllt wurde, das ist bei einem 5 Sterne Hotel nicht ok. Ansonsten alles super und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend wir kommen wieder.

Gostei muito da localização do hotel, que facilitou o acesso aos principais pontos turísticos da região. Outro grande diferencial foi o passe fornecido pelo hotel, que oferecia gratuidade no transporte público durante toda a estadia. Graças a esse benefício, não tivemos custos com o teleférico, o trenzinho turístico nem com os ônibus que utilizamos, o que tornou a viagem muito mais prática e econômica. Foi um excelente benefício que fez toda a diferença na nossa experiência.

Cons:

No segundo dia da estadia, tivemos alguns problemas que impactaram a nossa experiência. O aquecimento da água apresentou falha e precisamos tomar banho frio. No mesmo dia, fomos utilizar a piscina, mas fomos informados de que ela estava com problemas no sistema de filtragem e, por esse motivo, não poderia ser utilizada. Além disso, encontramos na chave do hotel um aviso informando sobre 10% de desconto nas refeições dos restaurantes do hotel, porém, no momento do check-out, o recepcionista informou que o desconto não poderia ser aplicado, pois o voucher deveria ter sido apresentado ao garçom no momento da refeição, uma informação que não estava clara para nós. Outro ponto a considerar é que o estacionamento teve um custo adicional de 20 euros por dia. Esses fatores acabaram prejudicando um pouco a experiência geral da estadia.

A CASTLE IN TOWN!
Pros:

Castel Hortenberg is a historic Tyrolian-German castle in Bolzano that has been repurposed as a luxury hotel.

The room we were allocated was large with historic frescoes, Breakfast was wonderful, with some of the best donuts you will eat outside of Krispy Kreme.

The swimming pool was fantastic and due to the hot weather was a welcome leisurely pass time for us as we lazed the afternoon away.

Location wise, the hotel is right in Bolzano, so if you are self driving, you are literally minutes from everything in Bolzano that there is to see.

I want to pay special tribute to the dynamic staff members; the charismatic Hamaz who somehow managed to maintain a straight face as I cracked joke after joke and the dynamic Ryzan who also is a marvelous chap who was also very engaging. Sanae was lovely as well, but Hamaz and Ryzan were the coolest dudes we encountered in our three week luxury jaunt through the Alps, and if we are ever in Bolzano again anytime soon, we would stay there just to catch up with the lads. We didn't get to say goodbye to Hamaz as he was not on duty when we checked out, but we cannot speak highly enough of him and Ryzan.

An oasis of calm…
Pros:

The whole experience was simply fabulous - an oasis of alpine calm and hospitality after a week of intense cycling through the Dolomites. The rooms are spacious, quiet, well equipped and comfortable, with thoughtful touches in the rooms - we slept so well here. The spa and pool are exceptional and you immediately feel relaxed and looked after. Everything feels new, and is so clean and well-maintained The decor is tasteful and beautiful - a minimal combination of gentle blues and mocha set within the ancient walls of the majestic medieval building. We did not eat in Le Secrete (which we understand is very special) but the meals and breakfast were delicious and of a very high standard. Most of all, though, all the friendly and welcoming staff made our stay so special - everyone was so kind and helpful, and always with a smile. We would like to especially thank Sanae - we have stayed in many hotels for business in our careers but her dedication and professionalism was outstanding by comparison- the hotel is very lucky to have her. We would also like to - thank Luminita, Hamaz and Ryan who were also exceptional. Thank you so much - we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this little piece of heaven!
