DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square South

The noise outside the window from the street - but nothing some ear plugs couldn’t fix.

It was like a hostel not a DoubleTree By Hilton standard.

1.The lady who checked me in was not patient while I was scanning my card application to pay. She was seighing to my face in front of others. Plus, she did not instruct anything to me while she did to some other people. It was not a warm welcome. She made me ferl guilty in front of other people. She had big curly dark hair, do not remember her name.
2. When I went up to the room, noticed that the lady who checked me in did not give me the room I paid for while booking with city view. I paid extra for that view. It had no view. Then I went down, found another personnel and showed the pictures of the room i booked. She arranged another room for the next day, but it made my stay unfomfortable because I could not unpack, could not feel well and could not settle in my room because next day i was gonna change rooms. Why did not they give the correct room in the first place? It was not a warm welcome. Also, the rooms in the booking pictures were big. but reality, you can not even move in the room as a standard size lady; too too small. I felt like I was fooled by Booking.
3. The towels were disgustingly dirty. They were washed, so was not smelling but full of brown stains on them like s..t and looking so old that almost torn; was feeling like a hostel not a Doubletree By Hilton standard. It was disgusting.
4. The new room they gave me; the sink was disgustingly dirty. I asked them to clean. Then it turned out that it was a cement dirt and could not be removed. Everytime I used the sink, it disgusted me. Please see the pictures.

I want a reimbursement of my stay as it was not the comfort i paid for in Booking. it was like a sh..tty hostel not a doubletree hilton standard.

The only critique I'd have is that the room were stayed in wasn't very spacious, both of us managed fine with our two suitcases but if you were planning on bringing more than that it might be slightly awkward to store your things. But it's an extremely minor observation.

There's some lack of attention to details: the hotel's lobby bathrooms were always out of soap, the elevator for the roof bar broke down, there was traffic getting an elevator, and the receptionist kept insisting they couldn't get me a receipt of the incidental deposit $200. I also REALLY didn't like that when I was checking out, I asked if there had been any other charges. The lady happily said "nothing is owed." I asked for a receipt. She didn't seem too happy I asked for one. Only then did she say, "Oh, there IS a charge. You bought something from the market area." I cleared up we had not bought $75 worth of market snacks and drinks. She said I'd get my money back. That definitely did not make me feel good about their desk area attention to detail. Had I not asked for the receipt, I would not have known that I had been wrongly charged $75 of market stuff.

Wasn’t so much this time around because of the cold, but so many homeless hang around right outside the facility, that’s the only problem with this location. Because they have a great hang out area, unfortunately it doesn’t benefit the hotel having this area, especially at night. Scared to walk in or out hotel at night.
