It’s so unclean and very uncomfortable
We stayed our final night in Sri Lanka here before flying back home from CMB airport which is just a short 15-20 minute tuktuk ride away. The host was very friendly and polite and served us tea and cake on arrival. The hotel is located behind Saint Sebastien Church and the room was large and comfortable with good air-conditioning.
We had a good time at Grand Villa Negombo. We slept there for 2 nights after we arrived by plane.
The room was very spacious and clean and the owner and the little boy (that did most of the work) were very kind.
We thought the the place was close to the hotspots, but during our stay it appeared that most other hotels and restaurants were further north, so we had to walk quite some time to get there. However, due to this it was very quiet and calm at our place, in contrast to the busy centre.
Communication could be a little better. When we arrived the gate was closed and there was no bell. So some information on how to get in would have been welcome.
Besides that, it was often quite difficult to find the owner to ask questions. However, once we found them, they were very kind.
Lovely place, quiet and clean with very large spacious rooms & bathrooms. Peaceful and were left to our own accord which suited us. About a 30 min ish walk to the main strip of Negombo but an Uber is literally 260LKR (70p) n is less than 10 minutes.
Not necessarily dislikes the stay was brilliant!! Cash only but were patient enough to wait for us to access an ATM. Tv in the room but no remote, I assume if you asked it’d be provided but we didn’t need it so just left it. No visible sign so good to provide a pic of the gates if having any food delivered or getting picked up for an excursion just to avoid confusion.
Wonderful place and amazing staff. Franky and Cookie are amazing hostess and make you feel like home, had delicious Sri Lankan and continental breakfast with coffee in bed. Me and my partner stayed here before and the service is always top notch, rooms are very clean, bed very comfy and fresh. Negombo is a nice city to visit for a couple of days before you head out other parts of the country coming from overseas relatively close to the airport and please don’t miss out visiting the church next door it’s absolutely beautiful.

I had a big room with AC. Nice bathroom with plenty of places to put your stuff. A girl that works there was helpful and nice!
You need to know the place is next to a church so every day you can hear the mass (around 5-6am and in the evening). With the earplugs it was fine. The place is missing mosquito net which is needed since there were plenty of mosquitos.
We only stayed one night because it was our last night in Sri Lanka and we wanted to be near the airport. We really loved the room! The bed was super comfortable, clean bathroom with hot water, which was nice for an evening shower. Big bed, a small rooftop with sea view, big living room (shared) and outdoor area.
