Very good hotel, the rooms are cleaned daily, and all the staff are very friendly.
The staff at the M-Café are also very friendly, the food tastes great, and the service is excellent.

1. Served us food (twice) with nuts in it when we made it very clear that we were seriously allergic to it and then the staff laughed at us.
2. Entertainment was cancelled and the bar was shut early several nights of our stay.
3. When I have contacted the manager has disregarded all of this and has given us no compensation for completely ruining our holiday.
Poor experience ,
All inclusive very partial just 1 menu, no change so 28 x3 course meals from restricted menu for 14 days no variation .Restaurant major refurbishment going on windows blocked as welding etc .
Drinks restricted offerings not allowed to take drinks to room ?
Rooms clean & well maintained air conditioning works good .Public areas need attention paintwork etc.

Staff are very friendly as most of Thailand, shame as brochures & pictures of hotel sell it well just a shame it doesn’t meet expectations.
Stayed for 10 days. Amazing hotel, definitely a 5 star hotel. Staff are amazing and kind. Food is lovely, pools are always clean and areas always tidy. The rooms where massive and clean. The area is quite which we were looking for. It has alot of steep hills to get up to the lobby but it doesnt say its accesible and does show that there is alot of walking. You can hire a golf cart to get you from your building or from the entrance. Worth the money. Khop kun ka to mida grande resort

This is a good 4 star hotel, not 5 in my oppinion.
However we loved our stay! Staff were lovely, kind and helpful.
If by any chance they didn’t give us the 3 bottle allowance I will call the reception and in less than 10 minutes they will deliver to our room.
The facilities are great, loads of swimming pools on almost every building top roof, a swimming pool for children and a big pool in the center of the hotel. The room is great however is missing plates and cutterly in the kitcken.
I booked the hotel for a family of 4. 3 adults and 1 child. And they advertise the family room (max 4) with a king size bed and 1 single … my mistake for not reading the details, however this never happened to me. When I book a room or apartment for 4 we always have 4 sleeping arragements. I was very disappointed with that.
But we didn’t let that to ruin our holidays as we were most of the time away.
The hotel restaurant is very pricey and the food is average… when less than 5 minutes walk you have great restaurants at a fraction of the price that the hotel charges. I totally recommend Butterfly ( we called auntys garden) , Teds and a Seafood restaurant in the main road.
The location is great, Surin Beach is lovely and beautiful.

We stayed here for eights nights in a privately owned Airbnb condo at the resort. We weren’t in the main building, but the other rooms in our building were hotel rooms, Building 1
We had some significant issues with our condo, so I won’t relate them to the overall hotel, as we didn’t stay in a room operated by the resort. Just one privately owned and rented within their building.
Located. about 20 minute ride from Patong Beach in a quiet little beachside town. Not a lot going on here after 9-10pm. No real nightlife if that’s what you’re looking for. Quiet place. There’s one main street that runs through town headed towards the beach just a few minute walk from the hotel and it’s got a bunch of little Thai restaurants, cafes, markets and convenience stores, etc.
Coming up the little side street to the main gate at the hotel isn’t very impressive. Street is filthy with trash and debris everywhere and a couple homes of the locals. You don’t get the impression you’re coming into a nice resort. , Coming into the lobby you don’t get the impression of a five star resort but more of a three star hotel. Not very impressive when you first walk in to check in.
However, the restaurants, main pool area, the upstairs lounge from the lobby with the Starbucks , and other areas of the resort were all pretty nice. We did find a cockroach one night crawling down the building corridor coming out of the elevator. That was kind of off putting. Also, the door to our building stayed open 24 hours a day and another evening there was a feral dog roaming the building’s hallway with the rooms.
The overall grounds are pretty well maintained, but showing a few signs they need some rehabilitation or touch ups here and there.. Mold and weathering on the sides of their two story villas for example. In need of some paint and touch ups.
it was still a pretty nice place but I’m not sure I would call a true five star resort? Maybe a four? While we had some problems with our condo, we did enjoy the restaurants, the pool, bar and the rest of the resort.
This place is advertised as 5 stars but is far away from 5 stars, maximum is 3 stars.
Housekeeping service is almost non existent, they cleaned our room after 4 days, and that's also because we already complained at reception.
Swimming pool most of them are looking nice but good luck finding sunbeds.. the main swimming pool got around 10 15 sunbeds the kids one 5 sunbeds and rooftops more or less the same, totally ridiculous for the amount of guests are staying, so very difficult to enjoy the swimming pools, if you go at 7am you might have luck to find empty sunbeds.
The breakfast buffet, there is quite a lot of choice again if you go early in the morning once getting busy things not getting topped up, and quality of the food it's very poor.
The state of the buildings in the resort is ridiculous, calling it a 5-star resort, and to be in this state is ridiculous.
At check in the asked 100 euros deposit, what they taken from my card, at checkout I asked how long will take to get it back they said 14 days and they recommended to better leave cash, quite a late recommendation when you already checking out, when checked in nothing was mentioned.
Positive things that some of the staff is really friendly.

Amazing!! Great upgrade! We are still talking about it to all our friends and family. The porter/driver named “Run” was fabulous! We wish we had been able to tip him on our last day but sadly, he was on a shuttle bus run. Fantastic pools, great cocktails!

This place was amazing
..like one of the best hotelsI have been . The staff was super friendly and Run was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs of luggage and transportation...the breakfast was also great with variety of fruits and dishes..
Despite the initial disappointment (reception area is not welcoming at all), we had a lovely time at the hotel with a super room upgrade for our anniversary and beautiful flower /towel display on the bed (thank you).
The hotel is huge, with numerous buildings set on steep hills. Each has its own pool on the roof, some smaller than others. We were in building 7, which I think was the best.
The hotel itself requires a lot of maintenance, which is clearly visible, the rooms could also do with a refresh and attention to detail is not great, but for the price, we didn't really expect a perfect 5-star hotel, so we looked past that.
The breakfast was not so good, but supper at the Pool bar was delicious.
The hotel is predominantly Russian, take from that what you will!
The staff were all very helpful and hardworking, and we didn't have any problems communicating with them. They definitely spoke better English than we spoke Thai!
We stayed at the Mida Grande Resort at the start of March 2025 for 3 nights before heading onto a different part of Thailand.
The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. A special mention to Ji and Nut who were fantastic and always friendly and happy to help. We ate a few times at the hotel for lunch, and once for dinner. The food service was slightly slow, but the food itself was well prepared, tasty and high quality. Breakfast was also offered a high variety of foods. The setting of the hotel on a hill is stunning, with views of the sea wherever you are and from every room, which was a nice added bonus.
The hill setting however was not mentioned at point of booking. It was absolutely fine for us but something to note for people with mobility issues. There is a step into the reception area that didn’t seem to have ramp access (that we could see). There are however golf buggy’s that take you around the resort and up and down the steel hills if you need them, including taking your bags to and from the room.
The pool area was clean, well maintained and spacious enough, with 6 pools. Most of them are on the rooftops of each building, which definitely had a wow factor. On the top of one of the buildings there is also a rooftop bar that serves a limited food menu. This was a really nice place to relax with a cocktail in the evening.
Prices for drinks and food were not too bad for hotel prices, considering the restaurants just outside the hotel were actually quite expensive for Thailand.
The room was clean and also had a wow factor, the bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned daily.
We booked this hotel through luxury escapes which included free tapas once per day, but this didn’t really amount to much and was disappointing. No tapas menu we were just served one dish which we did not like, however this did not negatively impact our stay.
Overall the hotel is a lovely, relaxing place to spend a few nights, with beautiful views, comfortable rooms.
A very nice, quiet hotel, well located on the hillside above Bang Tao halfway between Surin and Bang Tao beaches. There are several pools to choose from, from rooftop infinity pools, to the quiet main pool and a separate children’s pool.
Service is welcoming and friendly, with well equipped rooms, large pool towels and comfy beds.
With the hotel being situated on a hillside be aware it is spread across several buildings on several levels, which entails a LOT of stair and hill climbing - however the reception does offer lifts in a golf buggy for those less able!
Now the negatives… The food offering badly let’s this hotel down. Do not waste your money on an all-inclusive (AI) holiday; the AI menu is very limited and is the same at both lunchtime and dinner. It doesn’t change at all so gets very boring for someone staying two weeks. It offers about a quarter of the a-la-carte menu, which you cannot even order from and pay a supplement. Portions are small and often tepid in temperature.
My advice? Book B&B package! There are plenty of restaurants locally (Pooh and Friends, Butterfly Cafe to name two of the best) which offer authentic Thai cuisine at less than £20 for a meal for two with beer.
The pool bar opens late and closes early (10.30pm). The AI drinks menu is satisfactory but there is no coffee available at the bar, so if you want a poolside coffee you have to pay for a Starbucks (not included in AI and similarly priced to UK).
There is no entertainment (at least, we didn’t find any).
Be aware, the hotel takes £100/€100/$100 or 4000B cash as a deposit for the room card so make sure you have cash with you when you check in! You get this back at check out, but only after housekeeping has checked your room for damage etc.
You get two small glass bottles of water per day in the room. If the bottle is damaged in any way they charge a 50B penalty (per bottle) on check out.
Finally, and not necessarily a negative, but the hotel’s main clientele is Russian - they are quite rude and unfriendly which can feel a little intimidating.
Upon our arrival, we had been given a free upgrade to a 3 bed pool villa which was absolutely enormous and stunning! We had originally booked a deluxe sea view with plunge pool. We would definitely recommend the villa if you were travelling with family but without meaning to sound ungrateful, it was a bit big for just the 2 of us! The hotel was in walkable distance to Surin beach/shops/restaurants with handy fruit sellers nearby and we noticed a free shuttle service both to the beach and Phuket town although we didn’t use it.
The staff were super helpful and breakfast was great!
Mida Grand is a very luxurious and practical 5 star hotel. Our room was very spacious and feels like home. Mo at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and made our stay extra pleasant. We will definitely come back again.
Nice hotel, but unfortunately not worth 5 star rating. Staff overall wasent helpful and polite despite couple stars among them. You extect to jave 5 star service while in 5 star hotel, but no. Room was spacious and ok clean, but when in 5star hotel I would expect more. The balcony pool hasn't got cleaned properly because it was slimy when water has filled in thub. Thub itself couldn't keep water in , so it leaked all the time. Need to fill the thub all the time. We told the housekeeper about the thub but no one came and look to fix it. Breakfast was ok. I would like to have a gluten-free bread available, they only got gf muffins.
Mida Grande Hotel, Phuket
The location and overall property of Mida Grande Hotel are excellent, with a fantastic rooftop pool and great amenities. Housekeeping and cleanliness are also commendable, enhancing the guest experience.
However, the dining experience is disappointing. While the food tastes good, it often arrives cold due to slow service, which diminishes the overall experience. Management should urgently address this issue, as it detracts from the hotel’s otherwise high standards. Additionally, providing drinking water in the reception area would be a thoughtful touch.
Overall, a great hotel with room for improvement in its restaurant service.
