I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the hotel room we stayed in. After lying down, I immediately noticed that the pillows had an unpleasant odor. I removed the pillowcases to check them and found significant yellow discoloration and stains on the pillows themselves, including what appeared to be coffee or other old stains. This made me question whether the pillows had been properly cleaned or replaced between guests.

The bedding was also concerning. I found several visible spots and stains on the sheets, including a small reddish-brown stain that appeared to be dried blood. Regardless of what caused the stain, bedding in a hotel room should be thoroughly inspected and replaced before a new guest checks in.

The bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned properly either. There was visible grime and buildup around the base of the faucet and on the countertop area. These are areas that should be cleaned and disinfected as part of basic housekeeping.

The nightstand lamp was another example of poor attention to cleanliness and maintenance. The lampshade had visible yellow stains, dust, dark marks, and drawings on it. The condition of the lamp made the entire room feel neglected rather than properly prepared for a paying guest.

Taken together, the stained and smelly pillows, questionable stains on the bedding, dirty faucet area, dusty and marked lampshade, and general lack of attention to detail made the room feel unsanitary and uncomfortable. These are not minor cosmetic complaints—they directly affect whether a guest feels comfortable sleeping and using the room.

A hotel room should be cleaned thoroughly before every check-in, especially the bedding, pillows, bathroom surfaces, and frequently touched areas. Based on the condition shown in the photos and what we experienced personally, the housekeeping standard in this room was far below what we expected.
