The Chow Kit - an Ormond Hotel

Beautiful hotel and great location. Unfortunately, the basic in room amenities were lacking. There is no tea/coffee/cups in the room. There were also no robes or slippers provided. Difficult to take a shower without flooding the floor of the bathroom due to the design. Additionally, there was only a shampoo/conditioner combo- So, if you require conditioning your hair best to bring separate.

When we requested a kettle, etc it was provided for us. But, took a few requests to acquire cups etc.

Finally, on short notice the friendly staff booked us an airport pick-up which was very kind. We were told we could pay by credit card for a fee. We elected to not exchange currency at the airport and wait for a better exchange rate. Unfortunately, on arrival to the hotel, the taxi driver informed us that he was unable to take cash. After some negotiation, the hotel agreed to pay the taxi driver for us and hold our USD as collateral. We appreciate it helping us but better communication on the front end might’ve prevented the incident.

It is near malls, food and conveniences stores. Also safe location along main road.

It's about three stations away from the bustling Bukit Bintang area, and the monorail is just a 6-7 minute walk. The boutique hotel offers a unique stay with its blend of traditional charm and modern, cosmopolitan, yet cozy design.

Thumbs up: When I brought in food from outside, the staff kindly offered me cutlery—such a thoughtful touch. It may seem small, but it made a big difference, allowing me to enjoy my meal more comfortably. The staff's attentiveness and kindness truly stood out.

Hotel staff was excellent and the room was very nice and new, the only thing I would say there was no kettle, tea, coffee or toiletries in the room, most other hotels for the same money provide these

The room is too close to the main road and it’s very noisy. Also the hot water is not working.

Great hotel, lovely decor, very helpful staff & good location.

However, comfort not so great as it was very difficult to sleep with motorbikes racing around outside in the early hours of the morning. Not sure if this is just a weekend thing!

The restaurant was also closed all evening for a private event, & it would have been good if this had been communicated beforehand.

In terms of cleaning the rooms left a little to be desired and could be improved. In terms of service they were all fantastic🙂. And when it comes to the options of breakfast there wasn’t many but from the options that there were available they were all super nice and super delicious.

Disclaimer: I booked the standard Den room, which is a 15-metre square room with a bed with 2 bedside tables, and 1 coffee table in the room. There is basically nothing else in the room. It is good for sleeping, but there is no desk or even a single chair.

I do not feel welcome in the room as there isn't any toiletries (every single item is upon request and you basically have to spell out each item, or they will only send what is asked for) and no slippers provided (not even upon request). No coffee or tea amenities in the room.

The bathroom design is pretty, but the water drainage is bad. The shower water easily wets the toilet area as shown in photo.

For the MYR400+ (a night) paid, I really regretted my stay and I believe that I can get better options elsewhere.

We spent 1 night at this hotel and have fallen in love with it. We definitely will stay here again in the future.

We are sitting in the hotel’s restaurant right now. We checked out and knew we wanted to have lunch here before we left. The food & service is top notch. I am a retired Chef so I greatly appreciate good service & cuisine.

Lovely stay, hotel is located really near monorail station so easy to get into the centre of town! Clean well equipped rooms with high quality furnishings!

Friendly service by the hotel and restaurant staff. Clean and comfortable. The Den room is a bit small if you have alot of luggage , it is best suited for 1 person. Bring your own toiletries (only bath gel, shampoo, and towels provided). Great happy hour deals.

The rooms need to be uograded. The actual room did not look like the ones we saw online during booking. It looked like a regular cheap hotel/motel.
